Great but not exceptional

Comments: I have used a smart since 2013. Overall, I would give them an A minus. Customer service is phenomenal but sometimes you have to get to higher levels to get certain issues resolved. It should not be that way. Wait times are extremely long to speak to someone but that has improved lately.

Pros:

I love the reminder features that can automatically go out. Some of the reporting is also very helpful. I love being able to integrate my credit card system into the POS.

Cons:

I hate the fact that they are no longer going to add or modify features to the non-cloud base version.

Comments: We have had a great experience with Daysmart overall--it greatly improved booking efficiency in our salon and helped us eliminate double bookings and decrease the amount of missed appointments we were experiencing.

Pros:

We love how easy it is to use and find information on all of our clients!

Cons:

We would love a feature that would tell us our next available 1 hr apt, 2 hr, apt, and weekend appointment. It would make running our business even easier! We would also love a better wait list design--we often have a large waitlist and the set up of the current wait list function does not work for our set up.

Horrible service

Comments: A nightmare! Can't wait to switch to a different company.

Pros:

None. Will never recommend them to anyone.

Cons:

No longer can call and talk to someone in support. Can only email. Literally had a pissed customer waiting for over 30 minutes to resolve my issue and never got the email back in time. Client walked out. I lost a valued client. It's horrible that you can't talk to anyone anymore.

Busy Grooming Salon? Say no more!

Pros:

The review prompting KILLS! We have gone from 7 Google reviews to 200+ reviews and just one year using Daysmart Pet. We also see less no shows due to their auto-reminder texts and are busier than ever. They system is easy to for both the front desk staff and the groomers.

Cons:

There are some little features here and there that I would love to see. We also encounter some bugs that can be frustrating, but the support team is usually already working on them before I even have a change to report.

Comments: Awesome! It is so easy to use, book an appointment and easy to find settings if you need to adjust them. Also customer service has been amazing!

Pros:

Easy to use, great customer support & great pricing.

Cons:

Doesn't match to QuickBooks very good, its ugly and seems like the look is out dated. The portable card reader sucks, would be nice to have a different option. Confusing for customers to have a text number for your services that isn't your main number.

Comments: meh. customer service is a hassle to get a hold of then they usually have to escalate the issue which takes time away from doing anything else. There isn't quick fixes and I can't count the number of times I've heard 'I don't know', or 'we can't do that'. It seems like easy/ straightforward things like reports should be easy to customize, they are not. If i want to get the vaccine information (expired vs near) I can either get a report for anyone with a future appointment or everyone who is ever been put into the computer this includes deceased and inactive animals. Then download into excel and go through one by one to sort out... why can't i just search for current daycare clients??? it makes no sense

Pros:

I wanted it for the text messaging feature, the schedule looks easy to follow and was looking forward to updates and eventually switching to cloud based

Cons:

cloud software is terrible, it has way too much extra information and doesn't have needed reports that already exist in the computer software. We use the app and the IPad alot but the program doesn't translate to the app. We cannot see or update vaccines on app ( this is very important) I cannot see or update messages or notes or balances. It would be nice if a note we put saying I don't know dog bites be careful actually showed up easily so we didn't have to go through 10 screens to see it. You can't have multiple screens opened at once so if someone is using the system they have to complete or exit out of what they are doing like creating a marketing email; then you can check someone out. Credit card issues like if you forget to press complete it times out and the charge wont go through. I have a 7-8 page list of features that don't work or don't make sense

Pros:

I schedule a year in advance or more and can easily do this with DaySmart Pet. The week & day advance appt reminders are a time saver. My clients love it!

Cons:

Easier upload & access of photos (I take after photos of the groom). Easier upload & access of ancillary documentation - I have a 3 page grooming consent & client info form that I'd love to have integrate easily. Not happy when the price went up, especially since I'm a one woman shop & the features I use haven't changed in 10+yrs.

Comments: Once we get through the learning curve it gets easier. Above we mentioned what we would like to see change.

Pros:

We like the ability to view clients and schedule, payroll feature is good, Dashboard shows the growth, Employees like to be able to view their schedules on their App.

Cons:

The ability to group text customers, rebooking screen is annoying. Appointment window is also annoying as it drops down below the viewing window.

Great product

Comments: It has helped me build my business and keep track of all clients. It helps me market to existing clients continual basis.

Pros:

Great product that does so much for managing a salon and mobile grooming business. They just need a few minor tweaks to make it perfect

Cons:

The price is pretty high especially when you get into the marketing aspect of it. Adding a customers address to the screen while using a PC is a little clunky. Also reoccurring appointments. Need some updates to account for people who want it groomed more than 10 weeks or on a certain day of the month.

Good but definitely needs improvement

Pros:

Text reminders, scheduling, color coding services, reports are all great features. Setting up the program was very easy and customer service is always amazing, super helpful and friendly.

Cons:

Not enough features that cater to cat's, could use more cat friendly terms. Not being able to be notified of how long it has been since last time the client visited my business when they are booking an online appointment. Waitlist feature needs major improvements, can't even use it. Online booking needs to be more descriptive and user friendly, customers get very confused

Worth it but needs improvement

Comments: So far, it has seemed to work pretty well. I get some complaints from clients here and there with the automated text messages when it's not working, but most love it. The app does run slow sometimes and will take a long time to load the appointment. Other than that, we have enjoyed the app.

Pros:

I love how easy it is to find the dates quickly in 4, 5, 6 weeks time and the 15 min increments.

Cons:

I would like if the search engine would show me profiles by searching the dogs name rather than only showing the customers names. Also some clients complain that when they text back "C" to confirm it won't register so they call the salon panicked we canceled their appointment.

Bad to worse

Comments: I picked this software because everyone said it was easy to use. I needed something easy for my coworkers and boss. We went from hand written everything to a computer. I was supposed to be the one to get everyone on board. Unfortunately this software has caused numerous problems. On average we 5-6 random appointments show up that 123 pets sent reminders for but we have to appointment on record. It’s glitchy and messy. There is no rhyme or reason to any of this. It’s also extremely expensive! Although they are willing to reduce some of the rate once in a while because by their own admission, the software is bad. Or “untested”. It feels like they started from scratch and they’re selling a beta version of incomplete software as if it’s ready to go. Seriously DO NOT buy this software! Biggest regret!

Pros:

Anytime I call in to customer service the techs tell me they know the software is bad. It makes me kind of laugh.

Cons:

Company will send out random updates that crash the system. Zero timelines given out to clients for fixing the problems. Ease of access of client information on calendars and dashboards is redundant and lacking. (Why not show a phone number with the client name? Also why swap around the pets name with the clients first name. Software cannot consolidate multiple pets with different groomers. People are double charged if not done one at a time. Software creates duplicate time slots for employees which crash the system and make random appointments disappear from the calendar. Adding availability to the schedule is nonsensical. Booking availability for an employee M-F in one step is impossible. This issue makes it easy for the overlapping of availability frequent and causes appointments to also disappear. The system cannot consolidate duplicate accounts. You have to go though and “archive” the client and pet. Archived Clients May still be scheduled, which is a nightmare. Daycare and boarding doesn’t work and hasn’t worked for over a month. They say they’re working on it. -again zero timeframes Customer support can’t really do anything to help out. They just apologize and say that the software is bad. Nearly every single time I’ve called it’s been this way. The software doesn’t recognize a first name or last name. But it recognized (Last name, First name). Now without a comma the name won’t pull up.

Horrible customer service

Comments: My Spanish is great to the company try to steal from me and now I can’t access any of my clientele information because they don’t have the program anymore

Pros:

There are no pros the company won’t work with me. They won’t do anything about it after thousands of dollars spent they just want to keep my money and won’t help with the program all I’m trying to do is re-download Dan program.

Great for groomers!

Comments: Overall I great way for groomers to keep track of info and communicate with their clients. Has so many helpful features and they are always improving.

Pros:

123 Pet makes my life as a groomer so much easier. It has so many options for recording important info that I need on a daily basis. It also has texting and email reminders and marketing options which save me so much time since I don't have to manually call people. I also really love the new text ready for pick up feature. It has been a lifesaver!

Cons:

Some of the information pages could be condensed so you don't have to click around as much to look for things.

Comments: If it wasn't time consuming I would switch to another scheduling program. That is more user friendly, for my team, and my clients to book appointments. I have been looking for a new program for years. But I just don't have the time to move all my clients, and information to a new one.

Pros:

It's easy to use once you figure it out. Customer support I always have luck with them.

Cons:

It is way over priced. The online booking is VERY outdated. Along with the text message reminders. There should be an option for people to cancel or reschedule from their emails or text reminders. They really need to up date to more of a service like Booking or Timetap.

Needs work

Comments: Tried online booking for over year and eventually had to give up. To bad they can't update to fix problems

Pros:

This look of the site is amazing and ease of use for salon is great.

Cons:

Unfortunately this system will add clients as new client to existing database if the client doesn't put in the exact same information that is in the database already , causing groomer to have to search through database for notes on pet and causing false reports. Giving clients their own code to input instead of all their info would help this. Also, Clients with multiple pets have a difficult time booking as the "plus" sign is small. Should add "additional pet" button allowing for that pets name and service to be added. If that client has 6 dogs but only wants to book for 2, the salon has no idea which pets they are booking for. I spent 30 minutes every morning trying to fix clients appointments. :( Also, overbooking large dogs was a problem. Having a limit amount for groomers to accept would be nice. I just had to add "large dogs must be booked by phone"

Comments: Overall I'm fairly satisfied. There are a few quirks that we have experienced, but the customer service team is AMAZING and wonderful to work with. They do their best to solve our problems and to also help get new features added to expand the usefulness of the software to our company.

Pros:

The Calendar display. It's very straight forward and I like the Show options.

Cons:

Color coding is difficult. You have to walk through a lot of hoops and you are limited to what all you can do if you need to color code salons and mobile units. I also wish the title tabs above each column had two text lines instead of just one. Very limiting.

Poorly Designed for Pet Care Industry

Comments: This is a hair salon industry product trying to apply to the pet care industry. It is is impossible to use for quick and easy reservations for grooming, boarding and daycare. Check-in/check-out for products and services must be done by assigned groomer or handler. So if you have multiple services and locations, scheduling must still be done by the handler or groomer or by source. Scheduling by source (boarding, grooming, etc.) is a problem because you can't allocate resources at check-out. For example, if you had a pet board and a groom, you can't easily distinguish the two at check-out to give your groomer commission, you have to go back and still create the appointment for the groomer! Advertised features are actually "add-ons" for additional fees, $5.00 for 1000 emails, 10 cents for every text message, fee for remote access, etc. Customer service was always a wait and repeatedly had to leave messages. While we did receive callbacks, it was very frustrating because we couldn't get immediate answers and it further delayed our conversion. The sales staff encourages you to sign-up immediately because the 30 day free trial will not give you full access to all of the features of the program. And in fact, the program offers a 30-day return, but it takes longer than 30 days to convert to full use. When I cancelled the service, the sales staff was very nasty. No one asked what they could do to remedy my concerns and keep me as a customer. Furthermore, I called two days after a new billing cycle and they refused to refund my money. They told me that I should have cancelled within the first 30 days. If you believe that you can tell a lot about a company in their behavior when you have difficulty or a complaint, then believe that 123Pet Software does not care about the end user's success or experience with their product.
