Set up is pretty easy for our techs. The admin portal is also an excellent resource. They stay on top of bugs and issues. A great tool for bidding \& estimates. Security seems pretty tight too. As far as value for the money, it tends to lean towards the pricier side of estimating programs. I do feel it does give us an edge, though. > > **Cons**: I feel it can be a little too deep sometimes. A cut \& paste for the conditions from the take off screen tree would be extremely convenient. It also does not always start on the most recent condition that you edited. I like the way I can manipulate all areas of the program to suit our personal needs. > > **Cons**: The change to version 12 from version 10 introduced auto panning by running the cursor to the edge of the screen. This is great, but in Version 10, the arrow keys moved the screen around very quickly and was more user friendly. Great customer support. I still bid a few projects by hand, but probably 95% of my bidding is using the EDGE. Performance and speed seem great, but I've never used any other estimating programs to compare it with. As for value for the money, I've never had the opportunity to compare it with other programs. I've had no problems with security. > > **Cons**: When I was informed that I HAD to switch over to Ver.-10 from Ver.-7.9, since they were no longer going to support 7.9, I was not able to save ANY of my "hundreds" of previous jobs from the past 20+ years. It also didn't allow me to transfer ANY of my custom data base that I had built over the past 20+ years. That switch was a very uncomfortable time for me. > > I've been using the EDGE for roofing estimating since 1998. It has gone through some major "version" changes over the years. I have always been an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" type person.
