> **Pros**: Once you get a briefing on the software, it is a breeze to use.  It is extremely powerful and can save or earn you millions of dollars per year.  I cannot begin to explain how much business I have gained from using the software.  It is also useful to protect your market share and is a great tool for crafting presentations, either internal or external.  Saving past searches is also a godsend... I don't know what I would do without Datamyne\!

> **Cons**: It has recently had a makeover, but a few years ago some things were just hard to find.  Once you get used to the software, it is actually pretty simple to use.

> It is just an absolutely incredible program with more functionality than I could have imagined.  Not only that, but the team that works at Descartes is incredible.  Their experts can show you some neat tricks with the software that can make your work 10x easier.

> **Pros**: Datamyne is used to tracking maritime imports of materials into the US.  Able to track imports of competitive products and raw materials on an almost next day basis

> **Cons**: For US imports would be handy to have the HS code to provide the ability to search by HS code.

> With this service we decided to also add on the Mexican exports as a lot of material comes into the US as well as other Latin American countries from Mexico

> **Pros**: When exporting reports, the data that is provided is top-notch.  It has the most comprehensive data that I have seen.

> **Cons**: The system is difficult to use.  Also, the export data must be scrubbed prior to being usable

> The system as a whole is useful however getting the filters just right to export the data you need is somewhat difficult.  You get a lot of data in the export, however, you have to scrub it first prior to it being useful.
