DroneDeploy is Incredible!

5.0 8 months ago

Pros:

They have made this software incredibly easy to use. They have developed a way to nearly remove all user error possibilities from the equation.

Cons:

Some parts of the planning of missions are not there. Unable to specify the start point of a mission by simply selecting where you want to start isn't an option. This would be an awesome addition at some point soon.

DroneDeploy for a Nationwide Network

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: One of the best features of Drone Deploy is that they are ACTIVELY editing/updating/adjusting features on the app. We used to have alternate apps on standby to use if the app stopped working but we have not had to do this as of recent. It feels like as problems come up, they get to fixin.

Pros:

The convenience of creating flight plans, sharing maps, and visualizing different deliverables make this flight software the best in the game. My team works with this software on a nationwide scale and fly 50+ unique projects per month. Drone Deploy works great on both the flight side and the Client side. I also LOVE the feature that we can share the map with a client without having to create an account for him.

Cons:

On the Flight Plannning side, we often have pilots accidentally move the entire flight plan. It is convenient for when you need to do it BUT I would like to see an option to lock it in place.

Still the leading 3D mapping for general purpose drone user willing to do some mapping

3.0 3 years ago

Comments: It is my choice. It is work with the popular DJI products and it removes a number of "unknowns".

Pros:

It is easy to get started with drone deploy online. It is not so easy to get started with your drone, especially if you are new to mapping with drone. However, there is a good simulation training guide that can add value and confidence to the process. There is a good knowledge base that can be used for self learning. Great features when you get started. Easy flight planning - drag and drop with estimated of battery time and flight path clearly shown before you fly. The 3D outputs are best from other systems that I have tried.

Cons:

It a bit on the expensive side. In most cases you need to have live internet on your mobile device, thus you need to have data on your phone. In some cases the drone can crash if you are flighting in a valley using the ground distance always takes the measurement from where you started your flight path, this can be very dangerous if you took off in a valley and your drone goes toward a mountain.

Great product - checks all our boxes

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall, my experience with DroneDeploy has been excellent. As mentioned, from the mission planning stages through execution and creation of deliverables for clients, everything has been seamless.

Pros:

DroneDeploy makes it easy to plan, execute, and process a UAV mission, and create a deliverable acceptable to our clients. If ever there is an issue, the help from customer service is immediate.

Cons:

If I had a 'wish list' to improve DroneDeploy, I would like to be able to manipulate the Annotation Report a little more. For example, when a volume report is created, the results are understandably presented in cubic meters, but in addition to this number, I would like to be able to present these quantities in tonnes to our clients. An extra, editable field would be nice. Perhaps an optional export (other than creation of a PDF document) to MicroSoft Word would alleviate this request?
