Reviews of Notion
notion is the best!
Comments: My overall experience with Notion has been excellent. It has significantly improved my productivity and organization, offering a versatile workspace that adapts to my needs. The collaborative features have also enhanced teamwork and project management within my team.
Pros:
Notion’s flexibility and comprehensive feature set are what I like most. It seamlessly integrates task management, project tracking, and collaboration tools in a single platform, making it incredibly efficient for both personal and professional use.
Cons:
The learning curve for new users can be steep. While the platform is powerful, it can take some time to get accustomed to all its features and functionalities.
Review of Notion
Comments: My overall experience with Notion is great. I'm using it everyday since two years and it is the main platform for my project management. I allows me to setup a new project in a very efficient manner. It doesn't lag or stops in the middle. Before notion I was using other platforms as well but they wasn't the one that I was looking for. I'm a website designer and over the years I've managed and completed over 350 website designing projects.
Pros:
Over the couple of years, Notion has become my everyday buddy. This has been the easiest platform that allowed me to manage multiple projects at the same time. I'm a website designer by profession so I require a platform where I can track my different projects or clients. I can mention particular team members in the projects I want. In simple words, I would say Notion is a perfect tool for teams. I can easily create different projects and attach links or media files in them. It also allows you to prioritize tasks.
Cons:
For cons, I would say that Notion sometimes can be very overwhelming for many users to use. It can be confusing for new users as there are so many tools and options to use. I myself got confused in my initial days of using Notion. I generally forget how to start a new line, or break lines after every link I add. Some people who like flashy colors or graphics may find it boring.
I don't recommend
Comments: For me it is not a professional tool because it is very slow as I said before and the support is very bad. I have actually a big bug which exist since 2 years and Notion support don't help me about it. My bug is: I have 2 databases and 1 column to make some "Relation" between them. It was working perfectly before but some day Notion made some update and since this day, In my "Relation" column, it does not suggest anymore the datas that I have in another table. I reported this issue and the support team ignores this. Notion has a lot of limited features for FREE accounts like automations, file upload limit or inviting some family member.
Pros:
The ability to create databases quickly to store informations instead of using Excel for example.
Cons:
Notion is EXTREMELY slow if you are using it to store a lot of data like 2000+ pages The support, it is very very very VERY difficult to get some one AND it is EXTREMELY difficult to report a bug. Each time we report a bug or something like this, the support is like a robot, they ask ALWAYS the same questions like "What is your device please?" even if I precise it before and I say it is the same issue on each device
Great for Startups, not sure about Mature Businesses
Comments: The way we used it at the startup I was working remotely at was kind of like a complete workplace with all the documents and various functions and projects loaded on there. I think this works well for a small team, but I don't think its super scalable without some serious forethought and planning, and likely some kind of "Notion Consultant" to help organise things.
Pros:
Notion has a lovely layout with the left sidebar containing all the different pages, projects, tasks, etc. A little silly, but I love that we can add banners and emojis to the title and make the "virtual workplace" our own. Its great to be able to integrate other apps into Notion. We added our Gdrive, Slack, and Figma into the space and it functioned well. There are also ways to share specific pages with guests, and its possible to have private pages, separate from the team.
Cons:
As lovely as the layout is, our Notion became cluttered and messy fast because we didn't quite know where to add what (e.g. tasks, projects, pages, etc.). It takes quite a bit of knowledge and forethought to organise a team around it. I also don't like that there are very limited fonts and typography. So anything that we export to PDF doesn't look part of our brand and we have to re-do it on another software. Also, when we embed documents in our pages, we don't quite have the same visibility (i.e. we have to click on a specific page to see what documents are linked to it). Maybe that's the way its intended to be, but I found it a little annoying and often just used Gdrive instead.
My two year of Notion
Comments: After using Notion for two years, I've found it to be an incredibly versatile tool for organizing projects and personal tasks. Its ability to customize pages and link different content types made it easy to create tailored workflows. However, I did encounter some challenges, like occasional slow performance with larger pages and a bit of a learning curve when first starting out. Despite these issues, its flexibility and all-in-one functionality have made it a staple in my productivity toolkit.
Pros:
Notion's flexibility and customization options are what I like most. It allows users to create and organize information in a way that suits their needs, whether for personal projects, team collaboration, or even complex workflows. The ability to integrate different types of content like text, images, databases, tasks into one platform and then link them.
Cons:
Notion can be slow with large pages, has a steep learning curve, and offers limited offline access. Also it sometimes fail to last locally saved copy
