Reviews of ShipStation
shipping and order fulfillment solution
Pros:
The ability to integrate with various carriers and compare rates is a significant advantage, allowing businesses to choose the best shipping options.
Cons:
Basic inventory management may not suffice for businesses with complex inventory needs.
Alternatives Considered:
ShipStation was great, until it wasn't
Comments: I used ShipStation for a couple years until they added postage fees to my account that were not for my shipments and wouldn't help me resolve it.
Pros:
I liked that I could integrate ShipStation with my SquareSpace website and easily print postage for orders.
Cons:
The customer service and follow up could use some improvement.
I would recommend for easy every day use
Comments: It was great but it could be better. They offer great prices but customer service is hard to get a hold of
Pros:
I liked that it was easy to use and convenient for me
Cons:
I had trouble changing my account settings
Can't get it to work to even start and live chat support is really bad
Comments: My overall experience? Very stressful and upsetting dealing with unqualified support staff who wasted my time and got me nowhere. This, to me, says a lot about the company. What happens after our store goes live and something breaks? Will it be down a week because support is non-existent? Or can I trust a company to build a quality product when they won't invest in quality help? I hope they and others like them are listening. This is not just ShipStation. Companies need to realize the importance of good support. It can make them or break them. I'm off now to find a company with good, well-trained support that has a good command of the English language. Do they still exist?
Pros:
The ai chat bot was great. Very well trained. I was excited, but could only go so far before I needed a human. Then things went to hell. Never could get it working to know how well it works.
Cons:
There are many problems and the labels were misleading so it was impossible to know what the real problem was. Is it a bug? Is it misconfiguration? Is it just something I don't understand because the explanations on the page weren't clear? I couldn't say and live chat was not helpful at all. He couldn't understand the simplest questions so after 2 hours of trying to get the app connected to our store, and Loom video after Loom video I made to make it easy for him to comprehend, I had to give up trying. Even though his vocabulary was large, it's pretty clear, because of his lack of comprehension, that English was not his first language. But if he knew his job, the language shouldn't have even been a problem. If the shipping app doesn't connect to your ecommerce store, and I showed him pictures to make it crystal clear (it said no shipping options), he should have been trained enough to know what to do to fix it. He didn't even understand the question.
If you ship products, Shipstation is the way to go!
Comments: This program suits our business perfectly. We are a manufacturing company and we ship daily. It keeps you from doubling your workload as your customers information is at your finger tips.
Pros:
The detail. It remembers your customers, contains and keeps all of the pertinent information, even if you are just looking for an email address.
Cons:
So far, I can’t note out any particular con, as it performs exactly the way I need it too. When you ship products, it saves so much time.
Alternatives Considered:
So far so good
Comments: The customer service/sales experience was great. I’m not a tech person but using the platform has been easy.
Pros:
I like that it’s a trusted name and that they offer competitive shopping rates.
Cons:
It is expensive to be signed up with their highest tier plan, which is what I need for my volume of shipments and DHL integration.
Ok Unless There Is An Issue
Comments: If you have an issue with a package you shipped on shipstation with UPS, you are out of luck. You can't open a claim on UPS because you used shipstation and shipstation won't open claims on your behalf.
Pros:
it is relatively easy to use and has the same rates as other sites.
Cons:
the customer service is a horrible joke. I can't say how bad it is.
Easy and Convenient
Comments: Overall, Shipstation works as intended and is very easy to use.
Pros:
Super easy to use, and very self explanatory as fas as navigation within the system.
Cons:
There wasn't anything that I didnt like. I thought it was very useful for what it's for.
Support is absolutely ridiculous - NOT RECOMMENDED
Comments: Poor. This boils down to the lack of technical support. Overall, we like the software when it works.
Pros:
Shipstation has served us well for the past few years. It is a great way a aggregate all your orders from different channels.
Cons:
Support is HORRIBLE. We are left not being able to ship and can not get any assistance. I have upgraded our plan just to get access to live chat, and this is just as bad as the email support. We are urgently looking at alternatives and can not have our business dependant on ShipStation.
Good Value
Comments: Overall a strong positive. Less downtime could be good but good value for the price
Pros:
Affordable, Easy To Integrate, Easy To Use
Cons:
Dated user interface and periodic downtime and glitches
Alternatives Considered:
Good Platform to work on your e-commerce orders.
Comments: Works great to get all your orders fulfilled. We are very satisfied with that aspect. We do not intend to change away from it.
Pros:
The easy to gather all the orders from different selling channels into one tool. No extra entering of shipping information and I like how it does verify all your addresses.
Cons:
The Magento Module has issues. Live Rates do not just transfer from Shipstation to the website. It ends up being $0 for shipping that gets charged to our customers. I had to deactivate that functionality.
Alternatives Considered:
Best in class order management, but inventory management is flawed
Comments: Positive. I've tried numerous competitors, but keep coming back to shipstation for just doing the business of shipping things flawlessly. If they would add inventory syncing and kitting/bundling, this product would be literal perfection.
Pros:
The workflows, batching, labelling, general UI and UX and the user-centric engineering make it obvious this was designed by product managers who have done ecommerce, rather than their competitors who are software engineers first and have no clue what store owners actually want.
Cons:
The inventory managenet is one way; anything you sell on any channel will decrement Shipstation's inventpry, but it won't then push the new stock count out to connected stores. Also therefore no support for kitting and bundling. They recommend you check out other integration partners but most of those cost 300+ per month which is 6x what I'm paying for Shipstation. They have competitors who offer these features free or cheap, but the competitors lack in the order/shipping management features.
Terrible customer service, stay away!
Comments: Terrible experience. NOONE TO TALK TO, CAN'T GET THEM ON THE PHONE, THEY ARE THE WORST.
Pros:
I DID NOT LIKE ANYTHING, I WAS JUST WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE BOUGHT OUT BY USPS.
Cons:
No customer service. TERRIBLE SOFTWARE, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.
Useful tool
Comments: Overall Shipstation has been a useful tool for our 3PL. There isn't anything else quite like it.
Pros:
Shipstation is easy to use and helpful for shipping!
Cons:
Some features are buggy. We often have trouble with scales not working properly. Sometimes during peak seasons Shipstation cannot handle the capacity and crashes.
EASY TO USE
Pros:
HOW EVERTHING IS EXTREMLY EASY TO NAVIGATE
Cons:
i PREFER TO USE THE OLD LAY OUT AS OPPOSED TO THE NEW LAYOUT.
Waiting for solution for a bug fix for 7 months.
Comments: Started good and has quickly gone down hill...
Pros:
ShipStation has been pretty easy to use but we have been having the same issue for over 7 months now, with no resolution or sense of urgency from customer service.
Cons:
We have been having the same issue with no resolution in 7 months. The additional insurance cost to a FedEx label does not properly translate over to our operating system. The wait time to get what ShipStation calls a "bug", has been absolutely absurd. We haven't received a solution from anyone, meanwhile this has caused accounting issues and additional headaches that a small business shouldn't have to go through. We are already looking for a replacement service.
ship station review
Comments: very good, use it quite often for shipping parts
Pros:
very easy to use to send lots of different packages
Cons:
somewhat limited on carriers that can be used
Simple Implementation, Useful Tool
Comments: ShipStation easily allows me to track purchasing and expenses. It was easy to rollout and train my staff in.
Pros:
It allows me to keep an accurate inventory of uniforms, ranks, and supplies.
Cons:
The ability to input new inventories into the system is tedious at first, however you can quickly adapt to the interface.
Used this program for years
Pros:
Once you get all of your rules set up it doesn't require much additional work
Cons:
Customer service isn't always easy to get
ShipStation, you make our company profitable!
Comments: Great experience, great customer service, friendly design, and our customers love to use the tracking feature!
Pros:
IT IS AMAZING! So hard to choose! So fast, it is seamlessly automated to my client's shopify store. IT is amazing to see, the customer orders, shipstation opens her order, makes a label, and sends us a shipping receipt. Then, we pack and send the item.
Cons:
It wasn't available in Israel, and doesn't work with Israeli shipping companies. We did find a workaround!
Simple and convenient
Pros:
Integration with PayPal is super convenient.
Cons:
Interface updates are too frequent, requiring on-the-fly learning to get reacclimated.
The benefits of ship station
Pros:
ShipStation helps many countries especially in Africa to import more products from different parts of the world which helps to the creation of jobs to the local citizens And the price is cheap compared to airShipping
Cons:
The import takes longer period 30- 60 days for one to get his/her product
Ship it with ship station
Pros:
It's an all in one setup I can price a shipment, print a label and get it out the door all with one easy to use service.
Cons:
I have not personally had any issues however, others have had issues imputing address's into the system.
Great shipping solutions!
Comments: I use it very regularly and overall, I like it. It serves my shipping needs.
Pros:
Integrated with my PayPal and it's easy to launch. Also the saved address book.
Cons:
Sometimes it glitches and I have to restart it.
Software for shipping that expedites the process
Comments: Any business wishing to manage its shipping operations expertly should consider shipstation, in my opinion. I adore the functional, powerful features. The business may easily connect with a variety of marketplaces, shopping carts, order management systems, and other systems from a single, straightforward platform.
Pros:
I appreciate how quickly and well ShipStation handles the order inventory. The company can communicate with many carriers and order sources in one location. It is extremely well integrated with the primary shipping provider, which speeds up shipment management operations.
Cons:
When several people use it simultaneously, it will load slowly, which is inconvenient if you need to do the task quickly. Most particularly if you generate return label.
