STACK
Reviews of STACK

STACK is open-source software used for creating online assessments in mathematics, science, etc.
Comments: he STACK software is highly regarded for its ability to handle various mathematical expressions and provide immediate feedback to students. Its randomized question generation and compatibility with popular learning management systems are also well-received. However, some users have found the software to have a difficult learning curve and challenging setup and customization. Nonetheless, despite these potential drawbacks, the STACK software is widely recognized as a valuable tool for both educators and students in creating and grading math assessments.
Pros:
STACK software has several strengths, including its ability to handle various mathematical expressions and offer randomized questions and answers. It also provides immediate feedback to students, which is crucial for them to comprehend their errors and enhance their comprehension of the subject. Furthermore, its open-source nature and compatibility with popular learning management systems make it a practical tool for educators to use when creating assessments.
Cons:
the STACK software has been identified as having some potential drawbacks or limitations. These may include a difficult setup process and customization, as well as compatibility issues with certain web browsers and operating systems. However, the STACK team typically responds to user feedback and provides updates and support to address these issues.
STACK is one of the most important players on our team!
Comments: The problems we're solving with STACK include material estimating for large scale retail remodels and large custom residential homes. It's important to know how much of what type of materials to order - not too much, and certainly not too little. STACK has helped us save money by not over ordering, due to the fees associated with returns.
Pros:
I began using STACK with an employer that I had worked for several years ago. The ease of use, accuracy, and stellar customer support for the times I really needed it is why I have also decided to use STACK to perform estimations on my own for side jobs and have brought it along with me to my current employer for daily bidding and material takeoff use. I couldn't imagine going back to pen and paper.
Cons:
Since STACK is constantly improving and rolling out new updates, I can't think of anything off hand that could be added or improved. There have been a couple of times that I called in with requests that were actually implemented into STACK, which really speaks to their attention to their customers.
Missing a lot of user features of other software
Comments: Takes twice as long as our previous software to navigate and load pages
Pros:
Works online so multiple people can have access at the same time
Cons:
VERY hard to navigate between plans and takeoffs
We love it
Pros:
The fact that it is all online and our ops guys can see the plans at the jobsite from their phone.
Cons:
I love using your software but there are 2 things that I would like for you to improve.Sometimes I upload multiple pages for a project. When I am working on the takeoff you can see On the left the plans that you are working on listed on listed by plan name . It would be nice to be able to go to the pages that you are working on by simply clicking on the page name that is listed on the left side.Slope factorIts great that we are able to measure the basic slope by using the built in slope factor calculator. But that is only helpful for measuring the basic slope of the roof area and the rake and sidewall. But it would be great if you can add the valley and hip factor as well. It is hard to get the exact measurement without that because the hip / valley slope factor is different than the basic slope of the roof. Please see the link below that will explain what I am talking about in regards to the hip and valley. [sensitive content hidden]
Stack construction software- a users aspect
Comments: I had used this software for estimation of construction work for my residence. They have this 3D modelling feature for the look of end product with some detailings. The costing estimates are slightly high
Pros:
They have this 7 days free trial version, you can go and work on a maximum of 2 concurrent projects. They have an estimation and takeoff system. So you can go through before taking the paid version
Cons:
They features and functionalities in free version are pretty less and we can’t actually get a feel of what actually they have in store for us
Stack is the best estimating software
Comments: I am not an estimator but was a Project Manager and the way I could get exactly what I needed from Stack and even being able to convert data into a CSV was amazing. I wish when I was interviewing an estimator they came across this system because it does take a little bit of transitioning from such a robust software they previously used to our easy system.
Pros:
Simplicity yet so much can come from it. There's endless videos on how to use. Building assemblies is such an easy thing to do. Collaboration is also done and you are able to track time spent on each estimate and job cost. Love how great the style is and the way it is kept easy and simple to navigate. Nothing robust.
Cons:
Not a lot of people are aware of stack or believe stack is overpriced. Making this system known to others would be great so that whoever we employ already has Stack knowledge.
Stack can step up your game and make a difference in your presentation.
Comments: I enjoyed the software solution, I was able to quickly input new plans and begin taking off projects with ease.
Pros:
Stack is customizable and formatted to provide a professional image with as much or as little detail as is needed.
Cons:
Just didn't have project management implemented yet.
My experience with Stack
Pros:
I love stack overall. Its super easy to use and we take advantage of the integration that’s in it.
Cons:
I wish they had more mark up features. Such as arrows, boxes, circles, and I also wish they had a better cloud markup tool. To make it adjustable of the sizing and not just one size.
daily prolific user
Comments: great
Pros:
copy / paste works great. copy project works great. export to excel or other places is great.
Cons:
I wish I could copy 1 page or a group of quantities from one project and paste it into a different project.

A promising tool
Comments: On the one hand, I appreciate the main features of this platform, such as access to project plans at any time and from any device, as well as the database library of pre-built and custom materials. These features have been helpful in streamlining my appraisal and estimation processes, and have helped maximize the efficiency of my business.
Pros:
What I liked the most is its ability to access my project plans at any time and from any device. This allows me to have the information I need at my fingertips, which is vital to streamline my evaluation and estimation processes. Also, the library of pre-built and custom material databases is a standout feature.
Cons:
One of the aspects that I liked the least is the lack of clarity in the user interface. Sometimes the navigation can be a bit confusing, making it difficult to find certain features or access certain tools. As someone who values efficiency and usability, this can be frustrating and slow down my work processes.
Great Product
Comments: It has drastically reduced my time in generating estimates. All my projects are online through the software, so I can go back years and easily see my takeoffs/measurements and plans. I have also been able to catch errors from subcontractors by checking their measurements through the software. It has made for more accurate estimates, reduced time in generating estimates, and easu project file management.
Pros:
It's easy to figure quantities. Very similar to AutoCAD with layers and calculating areas, volumes, lengths, etc. I frequently take screen shots of my measurements to give to the foreman to see how I've calculated materials.
Cons:
I come from an AutoCAD background in landscape architecture, so I wish it had more drafting features, i.e. offess, align, midpoint, etc. My company installs a lot artificial turf and I have to configure the layout. Having more drafting options would really help with the takeoffs. It's great for measuring areas, but configuring layout from a landscape architect's drawing can be cumbersome.
Stack is a great, easy, very competitive program that has really helped our business!!
Comments: The Best!
Pros:
I love the uploading of plans, it works so well! I love being able to develop our own products in the database and input our own expenses. It was so easy to convert our company information into Stack and input everything we needed to set up every job! We do all exteriors and it has the ability to measure and convert every product and need we have into the job project, plans, and estimates. EASY Training products and wonderful customer service!!
Cons:
I can't really complain. They have integrated and added so many other programs and resources that you can find endless help. We Love This Product & Company!!
The best cloud based takeoff and estimating solution on the market
Pros:
The ability to upload large projects and have the pages sorted and name automatically, The ease of use of the takeoff controls and there flexibility, The assembly tools and customizable databases.
Cons:
If there is no internet connection there offline backup.
User friendly but Estimates with Labor and Quantity of Materials needs to improve
Comments: Overall it's a good software platform, although the learning curve takes a lot of work and time to get used to how it functions to get to your overall goal, which is an accurate estimate from electronic plans/aerial images. Id say the best feature is the takeoffs since its so fluid. The Reports tab and Estimates tab needs some improvement though. I would even add an additional tab for things like proposal generation or a landing page for Salesforce.com.
Pros:
It's very user friendly when you know how to make Stack work for you.. The vibrant colors associated to it. The fluidity of the takeoffs. The modern, cutting-edge technology.
Cons:
The Estimates tab feature needs to be improved dramatically. It is not only confusing with the wording and placement of cost categories, but the pricing can be off sometimes. The labor or Degree of Difficulty should have a function with the assemblies to realize how hard of a job it is and factor that into the estimate automatically. Also, the pricing in the Material costs category should have a box with Quantities that you can change to a whole number, not a percentage ('Waste'). Because at that point your guessing how much to take out or add out of 100% to get to the number you want and it's time consuming and difficult to do it that way.
Great for takeoffs
Comments: It is great for coordinating between p.m.'s and estimators.
Pros:
It gives you real time update for the team.
Cons:
Not a thing. It does what we need it to do.
Painting Estimators Take
Comments: Very good so far. I still need to master some of the mechanics, i just wish some of the mechanics were a little easier to use and manipulate.
Pros:
I love the access to customer support, and stack is helpful. The quantity take off feature is one of my favorites, but still needs work. Especially for redundant clicking for typical rooms. An easier "cut paste" option would be nice.
Cons:
Software is a tad bit on the glitchy side. Would love to see ui get as smooth/intuitive as Planswift.
KAT Fabricators
Comments: I like it, if I worked for myself I think I would still use STACK to make my estimates.
Pros:
I like that it is easy to use when creating estimates to send to customers. Uploading plans and doing a take off are very simple task .
Cons:
The new update is not the most functional when it comes to creating the project on the calendrer.
Stack Estimator
Pros:
It's very easy to use. I like that everything is in the cloud. I don't have to worry about losing my take offs.
Cons:
It's very expensive, especially since I only use the take off feature.
Takeoff / Estimating
Comments: 10/10. I recommend STACK to every estimator I talk to.
Pros:
The best feature for estimating is the TakeOff feature. It allows for a smooth transition from taking a set of plans off to producing an estimate.
Cons:
There is really only one thing. I wish there was a way to create a folder on the TakeOff page which allowed me to group each category of takeoff. I can be frustrating trying to find takeoff quantities when I already have a large amount of takeoffs already.
Best Software for Estimating
Comments: Great!
Pros:
The take off feature is the best tool, for we are accurate on measurements up to 99% of the time.
Cons:
Was very confusing to for our pricing needs, simplified it for us.
STACK CT Review
Pros:
A great part of this program is how easy it is to upload drawings from STACK into SmartUse so that our construction crew can access them in the field. Having multiple viewpoints for the company calendar is also very useful, so that everyone can keep up with what others in the company are doing.
Cons:
It can be slow to load when other programs run perfectly fine.
Stack
Comments: we have used it since its inception and have found they keep improving the program, the it team listens when you have a suggestion and incorporate it
Pros:
Ease of use, the ability to save money by having all the options ala cart
Cons:
Not much, they have corrected any issues we ever had with it, they always are improving the product
Review
Pros:
The takeoff capability is the most impactful part of Stack.
Cons:
It would be nice if there was a takeoff function for showers.
Great Measuring tool
Comments: Stack has done a great job in helping me create takeoffs for estimating.
Pros:
Stack is very easy to use when doing takeoffs and also very accurate.
Cons:
The mobile site could be easier to use and a little more robust in its abilities.
Easy to navigate
Pros:
Takeoff feature is very impactful, it allows timely estimation and easy read format for all users. Easy navigation allows novice users to find needed information effectively. Draggable Icon for a shortcut is also helpful.
Cons:
Having a dashboard style home page with upcoming projects or project progression would be helpful
