When it went live, our two properties were cross mapped to the wrong Vrbo listings, so every Vrbo reservation landed on the wrong unit. Because the correct unit's calendar never blocked, a guest walked into an occupied condo at 10 PM on another guest. That resulted in a refund, cancelled reservations, channel penalties, a restricted Vrbo listing, and legal threats. The support experience was worse than the software failure. Replies took days. When we escalated, we were told the mapping is a self service process and that there was no indication of financial loss, while we were actively issuing refunds and cancelling bookings. Nobody has taken ownership of the problem. A channel manager has one core job: put the right reservation on the right property.
