Great file transfer software

Pros:

The ease of use is wonderful for business needs. This software takes the pain out of securely moving and encrypting data across platforms.

Cons:

There are sometimes delays in file transfer. User error can be cumbersome as there is very little mitigation.

MOVEit does exactly what we need it to do.

Comments: We have been very pleased with MOVEit. It is relatively inexpensive and give us exactly what we need. Prior to MOVEit we had file transfer tasks housed on multiple servers around the organization and each one of these transfers was custom scripted. We've used MOVEit to centralize all file transfers to a central location that is managed by a team that is well versed in our data governance policies. This has allowed us to easily manage, monitor, and report what data is leaving our organization via file transfers. A secondary benefit of MOVEit is it's ease of use. Our MOVEit administrators can setup a new automated and scheduled task in a few minutes with no scripting needed. But when more complicated data manipulations are needed we also can easily incorporate a custom script into the MOVEit task. This ease of use is key to our small team managing 1500 file transfer tasks.

Pros:

MOVEit is extremely simple to use but still offers robust and extensive functionality. We currently have about 1500 file transfer and/or manipulation tasks setup in MOVEit. Most of these are scheduled and run without human intervention. It is a stable product that rarely has issues. In the 5+ years we've owned it we've only had one instance where we needed a patch from support. MOVEit drag and drop task builder allows the team to setup a new task in a matter of minutes.

Cons:

There's not much we don't like about MOVEit. But it would be nice to have a smoother transfer of tasks from a testing environment to production. We've also builtbri

A Product wroth having

Pros:

This software is worth have in an organization. a reliable product in transferring software, to big files over a secure network.

Cons:

Sometimes I feel like it is the same as having ShareIT in your PC. But again, this isn't that.

MoveIt within our Organization

Comments: Overall, MoveIt is a vital application within our organization and certainly something we rely on daily.

Pros:

We have workflows designed within our organization where requests for host files are made within MoveIt. Within these workflows, MoveIt jobs are initiated and workflows flow seamlessly. MoveIt is essential for these workflows to exist and successful function.

Cons:

We are currently on prem and desire to move to the cloud. Cloud offers many desired features and moves our infrastructure in the right direction as we want to be more cloud based. Our goal is to move to MoveIt cloud within the next year.

MOVEit system works great for sharing files securely

Comments: Uploading files is easy and efficient in MOVEit. It's secure, and it's simple in that uploading files for frequent, ongoing compliance monitoring is the only thing that I use it for. It makes my job easier and does exactly what I need it to do with no technical hassles.

Pros:

My program undergoes different types of audits on a continuous basis for compliance monitoring. MOVEit is the system primarily used for submitting requested files. They send me a secure link, which takes me to my MOVEit account, and that is where I upload files and can send related messages. The alternative is sending files as attachments in encrypted emails. With MOVEit, I like that it's separate from my email, where I can log in whenever I need to, specifically to see what I've uploaded and when, rather than looking through my email where I have to wade through many other sent and received messages to find what I need. I also feel complete confidence that the confidential files I'm uploading are secure.

Cons:

I'm unable to copy others in my organization (supervisors) that I would like to be able to include on audit submissions. But because I don't have this ability in MOVEit, I've developed other tools for saving/archiving the files I've submitted on MOVEit, which keeps a record of what's been submitted and when. If I were to leave my position, this keeps an audit record that my supervisor and potential future replacement could have access to even if they did not have access to my MOVEit account.

Reliable file transfer

Comments: Secure and reliable data exchange with clients.

Pros:

The high availability and consistency in which this software process files

Cons:

In some cases, my team had challenges getting the software fully setup and streamlined. Installation issues required some effort to navigate through.

MoveIT Software Review

Comments: Good overall

Pros:

Ease of Use and speed of which files are moved, and the fact you can not only move FTP files, but just files in general.

Cons:

Logging and Auditing is weak, and needs to be working on and made easier to view quickly and search.

Moveit Transfer and Automatin

Comments: Although both products place me in the middle of any two given entities, they also allow me to bridge the gap between sender and consumer for critical operations, including payroll and bank transactions.

Pros:

Transfer is super-secure, and able to handle large volumes of file activity. Automation is feature-rich and the user interface allows for easy file transfer troubleshooting.

Cons:

Automation requires Tomcat knowledge if you want to secure with a certificate. Transfer reporting options could be more robust.

Excellent file movement software

Comments: Secure file movement, control, and reporting.

Pros:

The interface is easy to use and creation of tasks is straightforward. Support typically responds quickly. Alerting and viewing the history of files moved and job outcomes are very useful.

Cons:

There are some minor features that could be included instead of having to create custom VB scripts, such as file counts. Job auditing could be more specific as to what was changed.

Easy to use, Extremely reliable, Secure

Comments: Being able to bypass email for sending large files was our primary goal.

Pros:

The software is very easy for sending or receiving large files that would otherwise not be allowed via email. The software has great security systems in place that stop bots and brute force attacks. Many different connectivity options.

Cons:

Would like to see better client software for syncing and sending files. Drag and drop of files or folders is needed.

MOVEit Automation is an effective platform for providing for our SFTP connectivity needs.

Comments: MOVEit helps for us to solve problems with needing to securely transfer files to vendors in an automated manner. With MOVEit, we are able to send files in a given directory to a vendor on a scheduled basis (ex: once daily at 8AM).

Pros:

It is easy to make use of MOVEit Automation to automate file transfer jobs between our network and outside vendors. I also appreciate that we can incorporate notification emails in the event of task failure/success.

Cons:

One downside to MOVEit is that I've found it difficult to, for example, create a task that cleans up file folders that are older than three weeks. I spoke with a Progress support agent regarding this, and he stated that this wasn't something that is natively supported, but it could possibly be accomplished with some scripting. If such a feature were to be added to the native MOVEit Automation platform, it would be much easier to clean up old archive files within a given directory.

Moveit

Comments: Overall I like it and it seems once you know how it works, it is pretty easy for people to navigate.

Pros:

I like that it is secure and is easy to walk users through (usually)

Cons:

We sometimes have difficulties with users resetting their passwords

Set it and forget it

Comments: This solution has helped us to centralize and streamline all of our data transport needs. The ability to log in to Office 365 Sharepoint and upload data to our cloud repository was a real game changer for easily and securely sharing real-time data with external sources.

Pros:

Very intuitive to setup and use. Includes lots of choices for being notified if there is an issue so my team does not have to baby sit it.

Cons:

The standard version of MoveIT that we purchased does not include the option to include a list of the files that were transferred in the email notification sent by the program. This has been our most requested feature from our end users, but it only comes with enterprise.

MoveIt Central

Pros:

The ease of setting up and managing schedules

Cons:

We only use for file transferring and syncing haven't had any issues.

MOVEit fits the bill as Mission-Critical platform

Pros:

We've integrated MOVEit into our transactional system and with its failover and automated routines, we can rest assured that files are moving around as expected and unabated.

Cons:

We've not yet come across anything the MOVEit cannot do, and have no qualms with highly recommending MOVEit to others.

Move-it Tranfser and Move-it Automation

Pros:

Having used the software for many years now, we have become quite familiar with the product. Over the course of time, we have been able to use the Outlook Plugins and API to customize our process. With minimal assistance, the products have served us very well.

Cons:

The only issues that we have had is with the logging/reporting. There have been some issues getting the information that we are looking for in the logging, but with a quick call to the support team, that was resolved with little pain.

Excellent File Transfer Solution with MOVEit

Comments: Overall, MOVEit is an incredibly reliable and secure file transfer solution that is easy to use and perfect for businesses of all sizes.

Pros:

MOVEit offers an incredibly secure and reliable way to quickly transfer files of any size. The user interface is also intuitive and easy to use, making it a great choice for businesses of all sizes.

Cons:

The cost of the subscription can be quite expensive if you have a large volume of files to transfer.

It seems to be very solid, with little downtime.

Unable to reconfigure without new setup to get external user IP address Very expensive support that isn't 24x7.

Comments: It's important for our technology stack but I feel like it was not deployed using best practices.

This required a lot of integration on our part and it's unclear if we had best practices when deploying.

MOVEit Automation Server Rocks!

Comments: Fantastic. Took many disparate SFTP processes/tools and combined into one simple management interface.

Pros:

As most of my business partners use MOVEit automation, we jumped on board. went from multiple disparate SFTP connections to one smooth interface. It is SO intuitive, and so easy to use. I can't recommend this product enough. I have automated all our file transfers to all our partners, get emails when things work or when things don't. IT JUST WORKS

Cons:

I had no issues whatsoever. after a very brief training, I was off and running.

MoveIT

Comments: Overall, satisfied with the product and what it can do.

Pros:

The ability to schedule multiple runs of the same job and the ability to run hundreds of jobs at the same time.

Cons:

The UI can use a refresh, its not the most user friendly and sometimes just does not respond.

My experience with Progress MOVEit

Comments: MOVEit was simple to set up, and their customer service gave all of the information we required. The solution has allowed us to eliminate all batch file-based moving activities across our organization.

Pros:

MOVEit is relatively simple to use but at the same time, offers robust and extensive functionality. The majority of our file transfers and manipulation tasks are pre-programmed and run without the need for human intervention. It is a reliable product with few flaws. The drag-and-drop task builder in MOVEit allows the team to create a new assignment in minutes.

Cons:

My team experienced some difficulties getting the program fully configured and simplified in several circumstances. It took considerable effort to work through the installation concerns.

MoveIt Automation

Pros:

This product has helped us automate so many processes and has saved countless hours of manual work.

Cons:

I really cant think of anything I don't like.
