Reviews of XLSTAT
I recommend every researcher/student buy XLSTAT
Comments: I handle most of my sensory evaluation data and consumer data using XLSTAT. It is super easy and smooth to complete the data feeding – processing – reporting procedure. Now it only takes me 10 mins to finish all thoes steps (without XLSTAT, 2–3 days might not be enough)
Pros:
Economic, user-friendly, comprehensive online tutorial, customised training courses, best integration to Excel, up-to-date solutions, customer service
Cons:
Some functions have bugs that cause Excel collapse. I always identify these bugs and report them to Addinsoft. They always contact me the next day and fix these bugs as fast as they can.
Prices need to be lowered.
Pros:
Multivariate analysis and practicality in data analysis.
Cons:
The price needs to be lowered or for old customers to have more discounts.
XLSTAT works well for Windows, but not Macs
Comments: I thought this software was a great idea, and it works really well on a Windows machine. I tried it several times (several versions) on a Mac, and was always disappointed. The support staff acknowledges that the performance on a Mac is less than on a PC
Pros:
It is easy (and powerful) to interface this package with Excel on a Windows machine, but it's disappointingly slow (and crashes) on a Mac.
Cons:
This software doesn't work well on a Mac.
Review for xlstat after more than a year of use
Pros:
Easy to use, essential for my work, contains a wide range of tools for calculating various statistical parameters
Cons:
No neural network tools in the machine learning section
Necessary.

The need to always include the data description
Undoubtedly one of the easiest tools for statistical analysis
Comments: With XLSTAT I can analyze my data without too much headache, it's the most accessible statistical software I've ever used.
Pros:
It's easy to understand and the fact that the data is already on the Excel sheet is just handy. No need for complicated formulas to get your results.
Cons:
I find the subscription price a bit expensive.
XLStat works
Comments: Excellent. Easy to use and intuitive. Would highly recommend.
Pros:
XLStat is easy to use so I highly recommend it
Cons:
The cost--it is unreachable for most of my students in graduate programs. My company purchases it for me and my staff but the access is limited to the few computers available.
easy to use
Comments: Overall, it is perfect software. I'm willing to use this software after I graduate.
Pros:
when ANOVA is needed to test, I've never seen such an easy software as Xlstat. Also, since we can adjust the figure using excel, it is so convenient software.
Cons:
it might be helpful if there's some software for metabolomics tools. There are only few of options available, but i was wondering if we can use the volcano plot.
xlstst
Pros:
intuitive analytical solutions clear interface intuitive descriptions of statistical results good integration with the MS Excel environment
Cons:
Limited product packages - no possibility of customization by combining selected functionalities from different packages. Average visualization tools (I customize many charts generated by Xlstat with MS Excel tools).
Go to statistical software package for years
Comments: Most of my work is in conventional statistical analysis and sensometrics. XLSTAT helps me to get the most out of my client's data with peace of mind that the analyses are done properly and that the conclusions are reliable.
Pros:
XLSTAT is easy to use (provided you have good theoretical know-how) and compatible with Excel which makes reporting a dream. It's compatible with R as well for additional functionality, although XLSTAT's functionality, especially in sensometrics is already very good.
Cons:
Not all of the tests are set up to handle multiple variables at once leading to a lot of manual labor. However, this is the exception and not the rule.
XLSTAT recommendation
Pros:
Effective and easy work; various options for data analysis
Cons:
While I appreciate all the software's features, I would prefer an option for obtaining a multi-year license.
Very
Pros:
The design methods that allows me to choose the best format. The friendly environment to use statistics, make it easier.
Cons:
I wish I could use my license in any computer, with a pincode that identify myself....I wish I can analyze cdf or ava or ada files.
XLSTAT for Data Analysis
Comments: I use XLSTAT for data analysis of the survey results I collect through expert opinions on multiple factors. Overall It is a good data analysis tool with ease of use. Can be deployed and integrated with Excel easily. I found it a bit expensive compared to other software.
Pros:
It is a great statistical analysis tool for analyzing multiple variable data.Provides data visualization in a great manner. Can easily be integrated with Excel.
Cons:
Explanation of results is somehow complicated and took some time to understand properly.Subscription charges are quite higher as compared with other software.
Versatile, easy-to-use, all-you-need statistics package
Comments: XLSTAT has been a "one-stop" statistical analysis tool for me, a real time-saver, improving my ability to explore complex datasets without hopping around different programs. In less than 5 minutes I can run all kinds of statistical analyses (and try out different approaches) to resolve a specific question, and then return to my raw data Excel spreadsheet without having to hop around between different applications. The results simply appear as a new worksheet, to which I can return at a later time, if need be. I have been able to run every common statistical analysis with this program. I highly recommend it for students as well as more senior researchers. The cost is reasonable if you compare it with the time saved.
Pros:
XLSTAT provides all the common statistics analyses I need for my research and it works seamlessly-integrated into Excel--which is a huge plus. This makes it easy to work from existing Excel workbooks, without having to re-format and re-code data tables. Simply select the columns you want to analyze--and away you go! I can run any statistical analysis in less than 5 minutes and return to my same dataset--with a new perspective. All characteristics and functionality of Excel remain, which is helpful when working with annotated datasets (colors, figures, images). Results of each statistical analysis appear neatly as separate worksheet--great for maintaining a record of all analyses (and variations) performed on a given dataset (i.e. when writing a manuscript). The different statistical functions of XLSTAT also have an intuitive "Excel feel" to them, so no need to learn coding. The statistical outputs are very smart and thorough (and customizable)--including complete tables, figures and tests of assumptions (e.g. for Anovas).
Cons:
While there is an extensive help menu, sometimes the online explanations aren't sufficiently self-explanatory to understand, requiring trial-and-error. However, thanks to smooth integration into Excel and the useful feed-back from XLSTAT when you do make an error, you can usually get to the solution you need very quickly. My feeling is that if you have difficulties running a particular, unusual analysis in XLSTAT then you probably will have even greater difficulties in another program.
Sensory Analysis Tools
Comments: Very usefull
Pros:
Sensory Analysis tools and the tutorials
Cons:
integration with excel could be a issue in future
Useful and Essential tools for Market Research professionals
Comments: I always had a great experience with XLSTAT even when I don't know how to do something, it's really intuitive, with patience and determination, we always find the solution !
Pros:
I like the way it presents the results and the fact that I can rework each graph to make it more eye-catching. It's really easy to work on data even if we have to practice a bit to master it! It's so much easier than a R software or a pyhton and the info we get is really valuable to understand and get conclusions about a survey. We can almost do everything!
Cons:
Sometimes it takes me a little while to figure out how to organize the data to get what I want, maybe we could have video tutorials when we buy the license with training exercises around linear regression, penalties , ANOVA, ACP/AFC. Fortunately, you can find videos on the internet but sometimes I need something really specific, it could be great to have more personalized help too. I don't know maybe include a training session with a professional once a year when buying the license (or put it as an option that we could add?)
Powerhouse of Data analysis
Comments: I am totally in for the Xlstat. This made my data analysis experience very smooth. It is easy to use and gives high performance. Thank you XLSTAT team for making my research journey smoother.
Pros:
Xlstat is a very user-friendly software for data analysis. There is no code needed for performing tasks which makes the software easy to use in the comparison of R and SPSS. Being a researcher in climate vulnerability assessment, have to deal with volumes of regional data to analyse. Xlstat just made my life easier. I will strongly recommend the Xlstat.
Cons:
While performing the determinant analysis, there should be an option to select the percentage of training data. This is not cons of the product but will improve the performance of the analysis.
Superb Customer Support
Comments: My research entails the exploration of the data generated by test subjects making high-speed visual judgements. As it has moved through upgrades I have taken benefit of the additional functionality added into the software by the XLSTAT team. Occasionally I have messed up the upgrade or spotted a problem and the support team have been just that - they have provided excellent support and with my ability to get things wrong that has been invaluable.
Pros:
XLSTAT has a range of depth of functionality even in its Basic version which is outstanding and the fact that it sits happily on top of EXCEL makes it a winner as far as I am concerned. Statistics has always been lurking in my academic and professional background but just using and experimenting with XLSTAT features on my data sets has allowed me to explore a range of possibilities that would have sent me nuts if using SPSS. An exceptional piece of software and a brilliant learning and research tool.
Cons:
Nothing - it has enhanced my research no end.
Lifesaver!!
Pros:
Xlsat has allowed me to analyze and predict data beyond any scope I have before. I thought I would not understand statistics but this software helped me become an A student!
Cons:
I’m still learning new things everyday that the software can do, it would be cool if there were links or small explanations as to what “regression”actually is for example.
Sensory Evaluation in XLSTAT
Comments: Our group is responsible for a large number of sensory tests. XLSTAT makes it easy to turn these studies around quickly with the tables and charts it produces.
Pros:
XLSTAT makes multivariate analysis a snap. I have been a SAS user since 1982 and use it for some analysis where I need the detailed diagnostics. However, I try to utilize statistics packages that are easier to use when possible which makes it much simpler to instruct more junior scientists how to perform advanced analysis and XLSTAT is really good for this. I make it a practice to check any new statistical package against SAS results and XLSTAT passes with flying colors.
Cons:
The only problem I have encountered with XLSTAT is having EXCEL crash n occasion, though this may have more to do with how our IT department has configured our computers.
XLSTAT
Comments: I use XLSTAT Sensory, and I really enjoy it. The software is user-friendly and easy to use, and there is a plethora of resources for all users.
Pros:
I really like how user-friendly it is, and how there is a full explanation of how to use each function. I often look to the XLSTAT website for help and it is a great resource.
Cons:
The only comment I have is that it would be nice to be able to communicate with a help desk type resource through a chat box- however this feature may already exist and I just have not yet discovered it yet.
Great for analysis of sensory science data
Comments: It has allowed me to analyse many sets of data for various clients: preference mapping, multiple factor analysis, principal component analysis, sensory panel performance...
Pros:
I like the various options for analysis that are not easily available elsewhere - particularly for sensory science applications. Once you get used to the different menus it's fairly easy to use. The tutorials and video support are mostly very clear. The customer service is excellent with very rapid replies and solutions.
Cons:
It can be difficult to use the first few times but the tutorials help explain most things and the excellent customer service helps with much of the rest. The plots can be tricky to share and require some editing before use.
XLSTAT gets me through the day!
Comments: Sample size and power estimates are easy in XLSTAT. The exercise compels non-statisticians to pay attention to the statistical considerations at the earliest stages of clinical trial design and protocol development.
Pros:
Sample size and power estimates are easy in XLSTAT. The exercise compels non-statisticians to pay attention to the statistical considerations at the earliest stages of clinical trial design and protocol development.
Cons:
Add a calculator for Cohen's d and Cohen's h so that I can easily estimate standardized effect size for experimental agents from published articles. For Cohen's d, provide the option of entering either SD or SE and N, because one or the other, but not both, are reported in journal articles.
Data Analysis Made Easy with XLSTAT
Comments: I was never a statistician but with XLSTAT I learnt so much. There tutorials are great they explain you in simple language, easy to follow. I love XLSTAT. I couldn’t have thought of any better software than this.
Pros:
* Ease of use * Very good and clear tutorials * Convenient and doesn’t take a lot of time for analysis * Lot of features to choose from for the data analysis * One place and rate provides all * Great customer support
Cons:
* I have not faced anything yet * Probably some features are not available in everything but customer support always helps and caters to your request!
XLSTAT is Excellent!
Comments: Excellent
Pros:
It is very user friendly. Anyone with basic understanuser-friendlyding of statistics can use it.
Cons:
Visualization can be improved to help display the results of statistical analysis. I also like that in some parts, an explanation is provided to help interpret the results of the analysis. I encourage doing this more and if possible to all inferential statistics.
