Installer development documentation is just limited enough that trial and error works better. More images and downloadable samples in available documentation would be helpful. I wish we could copy/paste components, and import them from other projects, rather than having to recreate a component and reset all the settings. I wish that you could exclude an entire subfolder in component settings. I wish that you could specify for the installer to install empty folders if they are in the source. I wish that prerequisite conditions were more powerful, so we could check for common issues, like a leftover registry key from a prerequisite that has been uninstalled, but appears to be installed.
