Pros: The software has a solid base upon which to build upon. All basic software functions are covered, but VAI has the staff and knowledge to help customers tailor the solution to their unique business needs. They have a well rounded staff that can help with new technology and business needs, but they are small enough that you get personalized attention.

Cons: By allowing so much customization, they also make continuing with their latest ugrades more difficult, at least from a dollar perspective. So many of their latest enhancements are built on being at the latest release, and to get there you have to rebuild your customization.

Pros: Software if very flexible, but requires a great deal of modification for most business'. Software support is fairly good.

Cons: Based on out of date IBM AS/400 technology. Everything that touches the system is needlessly expensive and requires a wide variety of 'hacks' to make it work with modern systems.
All reports are super generic plain text and require expensive software and more expensive custom programming to make a report that you expect from a accounting package. Also will only work with certain specific printers.
Software has been built-on for 20+ years and the latest version utilizes a modern web user interface, but it is still just a pretty front end on an old fashioned green screen terminal program.
Software security is lacking in many areas (unencrypted communications between server and clients is a sore spot).
Once again, if you're looking to move your company to state of the art software from 1985, then this is your best bet.
I'm praying that the local company will quit dumping money into a bottomless pit and let's start over.
Pretty much everything you do is billable (phone calls, emails, fixing software bugs in their program, all get passed along to the customer).

Good ERP yet complicated
