Have to use it, but would like to use something better

4.0 last year

Pros:

Mindbody gets the job done. My gyms require me to schedule through it so I'm kind of forced to use it.I do like that I have a few gyms on it which makes it easier to book a few classes at different spots at the same time.

Cons:

I wish the booking could go right into my Google Calender just like a Calendly appointment do or Eventbrite events. When I book in Calendly and Eventbrite, I do not need to click "add to calendar" because it just goes into my calendar automatically upon booking. My pilates studio just switched from Mindbody to Momence and I'm really liking the feel of the new platform. It feels like the platform was built more recently and it's meant for mobile. Whereas Mindbody feels like it was built desktop first and the mobile doesn't have unique sizing or layout. Momence also has a messaging area for my gym to message us with deals and such.Would be ideal if all gyms used Mindbody but instead I have to toggle between apps to book my classes.

One of the best but highly priced

4.0 3 months ago

Comments: was really excited at signing up to Mindbody and used every resource they offered me. After a year it was becoming costly. I could only put my own clients through and a few integrations didn't work. For a high-priced product - and they are the best they would be a good 1 stop shop for many. My own situation, it was too expensive for the features on offer.

Pros:

Mindbody is feature-rich and takes away so many headaches with a booking system, payment system and holding client data. It freed up my time daily.

Cons:

The price. They specialise in gyms, salons and studio classes, all of which must be small businesses but the price doesn't reflect that at nearly £100 a month on the smallest package

When it works, it's great

3.0 6 months ago

Comments: This software has literally 100% of the features that I need out of a software to run my business smooth and efficiently, but I would kill for all those features to work closer to 90% of the time for the price I pay for it.

Pros:

Online booking Marketing suite with automated emails Appointment confirmations Personal branded app Membership and package management

Cons:

Customer support is terrible Nobody ever seems to understand how to fix the recurrent problems with the software There are constant glitches All automated emails are routed to spam Credit card processing is severely delayed by up to 5 days It is lavishly expensive for what you get

Overall VERY Disappointed.

2.0 6 months ago

Comments: So far I have only been with Mindbody for 6 months. And it is a nightmare.

Pros:

I like that they had a marketplace with other business', and that you can run a new client special that people can easily see.

Cons:

I switched from wellness living to mindbody in January of this year. I thought it would make my life easier, but it has done quite the opposite. First off may I start with the fact that mindbody allows you to set up late/no show fees but does not charge the customer automatically. I would manually have to go in and do that myself. Also, the fact that they must be in a contract for them to even store a credit card to charge is ridiculous to me. Also, every time I call for help, I am told I must do everything myself in front of a laptop, half the time people spend forever trying to figure out what’s the issue and then just never solve it and send me a bunch of emails on step by step how to do it myself. Not very convenient. Another issue I have is that all my emails that get sent out for campaigns and advertising just go to all my clients spam folders. Which defeats the purpose because they can never see them, and apparently you must have a domain email instead of a Gmail for this to even be reversed. Having all my advertising emails go to client’s spam folder is HUGE and is super bad for the business. Their only advice is to buy a domain email, which Is much too late for my business to change my email now. OR to ask every individual client to add the email I have as a contact, which there is no easy way to do. You think oh just send them all an email to ask them. Oh, wait they still wouldn’t be able to see it. I also created a new client form that I wanted people to be required to sign just once for the remainder of their visits, and apparently, I would have to individually send it to ALL MY EXISTING CLIENTS for them to sign it. Which once again is a ridiculous request. To be honest I am highly disappointed with the software switch so far, and as a business owner I can't say I’m sure that I would recommend it. It has not at all been convenient for me, I must figure out everything on my own and every time I call for an issue I am placed on hold for an hour with the situation and then I get sent emails on how to fix it, and then I just never end up figuring it out. I think I spend even more of my time as an owner on the phone with customer service than I did with my last software, which is really disappointing. 90% of the time I get the answer from customer service, that they don’t know what the issue is. And I am like, well I don’t either considering I am just the owner of my own business? Then they just send me steps on how to fix it on their best guess of what the issue is. I don’t even see the point in customer service at this point.

Alternatives Considered: Vagaro

Reasons for Choosing Mindbody: too many technical errors, having to book clients myself. Them not being able to sign waivers, etc.

Mindbody - great options in theory, very glitchy in practice

3.0 2 months ago New

Comments: Mindbody was what we used when rolling out an online wellness program during the pandemic - in theory it appeared to have everything we needed, but in practice the system was very slow and led to dissatisfaction with clients in terms of booking, payments, and access to online offerings.

Pros:

Large network of users - had potential to reach new client base

Cons:

Too many glitches in the system - payments, scheduling/signups, and livestreaming all had major issues

Stay away from MindBody Online

1.0 4 months ago

Comments: While the software design is lovely. Everything about the company, getting your own data from the company, how they run, and how they operate are absolutely horrendous and unethical.

Pros:

I appreciate client accounts and organizational setup

Cons:

Their lack of ethics, stealing from their clients by advertising their own products to your client base, the u reliability of the app and scheduler, the unreliability of payment processing, the additional fees from payment processing, the costs, the customer service, gaslighting customers and [sensitive content hidden] to avoid taking responsibility for their failures, etc

Mindbody is comprehensive but you only get value if you use all of the features

4.0 last year

Comments: We had a very good experience with Mindbody and stayed with them for almost 10 years. Their customer support and broad range of services worked well for our diverse training programs. In the end, we switched because more players came to market at a lower price point, with exactly the services we needed.

Pros:

Amazing tech support both on the phone and online. A comprehensive suite of products that can handle many different gym setups with a wide variety of services. The mobile apps are great for trainers and clients to manage their training schedules.

Cons:

Mindbody has become increasingly more expensive over time. The tiered approach initially worked, but you really need to pay for the premium to get all of the features - many of which were not necessary for our needs. There is value only if you can leverage the entire suite of products.

An Essential Tool for Wellness Professionals

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: Overall, my experience with Mindbody has been overwhelmingly positive. It has greatly reduced the administrative burden, allowing me to focus more on my clients. Despite a few minor drawbacks, it's a highly recommended tool for wellness professionals looking to enhance their business operations.

Pros:

I love the user-friendly interface, the streamlined scheduling, and the seamless integration with other platforms like Zoom and Shopify

Cons:

The mobile business app lacks some features, making it difficult to manage all aspects of my business on the go.

My personal review of the product

Comments: Mindbody is really great and helpful to our business when it comes to membership.

Pros:

What I like about MindBody is it is easy to use. You will be able to see all the details of the members and all transactions that was made on the account

Cons:

What I don’t like about it is that sometimes we are experiencing an error or loading issue. Sometimes if I am going to update the information of a member it will not accept the updated information. Sometimes software is down.

Never grew to love it

4.0 10 months ago

Comments: It was a fine enough experience. I was however in support of seeking out other booking systems that could sustain both class sign-in and appointment bookings.

Pros:

I used this product mainly to sign people into class and occasionally to book people in for a treatment. I appreciate that Mindbody offer the opportunity to do both and allow for therapists to run their practice out of the studio. I cannot comment on the quality of charting options available.

Cons:

I have used this platform for 8 years and I have never grown to love it. It frequently glitches. It isn't the most user-friendly. The last time I used it, they were trying to implement a new UI to sign people into classes. Instead of presenting an inviting, easier format, it's just incredibly annoying and counter-intuitive. Turning the prompt down once doesn't work; every time I log back into my account I have to click on a small button to use the old version. Although I don't know the cost, I have heard from many that it is very expensive for what it is you're getting.

Great product that makes life easier!

5.0 last year

Pros:

I love the ability to print and send off monthly reports. It makes it easy from an accounting perspective. Clients love it as well to book into classes, cancel classes, or looking at the schedule.

Cons:

Yes, it's a bit on the pricier side, but costs less than an accountant and I get the data I need. The ease makes it worth it.

Mindbody Review

5.0 last year

Pros:

Mindbody is a great application for managing a boutique fitness studio! Setting up, editing and it's overall use is intuitive and makes tracking every day business for both the manager and entire sales/teaching team. It is easy to view classes on the schedule, track clients and make notes to enhance our overall client experience. Mindbody is a great choice for anyone running a fitness studio!

Cons:

Sometimes, it is difficult to find where you're going the first time or two using different functions, but once you get the hang of it - all aspects of the application are very functional!
