Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Reviews

Good, free security suite, if you have Microsoft 365.

Comments: It works in the background so I'm never really aware of it. A few years back I had some false positives, but not for a long time. I use Malwarebytes as well and that gives me a lot of false positives which can be a real nuisance.

Pros:

Free suite of security tools that is integrated with Windows. Don't really need any other anti-virus.

Cons:

The instructions are not very clear. It takes a while to figure out what's what and the various modules have very slight or no explanations. I haven't been able to find any way to contact direct customer support with a real person.

Microsoft Defender

Pros:

Microsoft defender is used to protect our data and secure our organization resources

Cons:

Microsoft defender its not suitable for dealing with High level cyber attacks

I hope Microsoft really focuses more on this software again.

Pros:

What I like most about this software is how inexpensive it is. When you buy a new computer that has Microsoft Windows on it, it is already ready to go for the user to use.

Cons:

What I like least is this product worked for a while but now it is back to not feeling safe when it is running. You really have to really look into this software because you have to put some effort into it.

Defend Your Data with MS Defender

Comments: I have had very good protection and minimal security issues while using Defender.

Pros:

Its centralized management with O365 makes it convenient to use.

Cons:

It can take some time to learn where to use certain tools and how to track system events.

Microsoft Defender's Vest Features

Comments: I love overseeing the product work for me. I keep the dashboard open and the reports are away to read and comprehend.

Pros:

Instead of worrying about malicious links in my emails, I love that this product proactively inspects every message for viruses and malware. This is especially important because I use so many digital products with email activation.

Cons:

I only have experienced this product flagging safe links twice. The flag was on a party store app that was very new.

Comments: It has contributed to a more secure environment in the business.

Pros:

The integration with Office 365 is really good, it provides the protection you need for emails, attachments, links, etc

Cons:

Maybe when legitimate email are flagged as threats but not a big deal.

Integrated system that folds well into office. When running other office suite products integrated reporting helps to consolidate data.

Cons:

Some of the areas are convoluted and requires specific training to navigate for things that should be simple items.

Comments: I have tried other AntiVirus Security software and have to say Microsoft Defender is simply the best. It is far superior to the others in that it does it's job quietly, in the background, your work does not get interrupted all the time and you know you are protected 24/7. When your business depends on the protection of your data you need Microsoft Defender.

Pros:

I love that Microsoft Defender runs in the background, it does it's job without a lot of fuss. You don't have to see or know it's running all the time but you trust it is doing it's job all the time.

Cons:

I wish there was more reports available for the results of the scans and the quarantined emails. To there advantage there might be and I have not found them yet.

Staying safe with Microsoft Defender

Comments: It has shown me that It works, I have not had any issues that were not handled and I only use Microsoft Defender on my computer.

Pros:

I like most about this software is that it came with Microsoft. I didn't have to purchase it or research to make sure it would work with Microsoft products. It is a Microsoft product, so I am confident that it will and can protect my computer.

Cons:

I have not found anything that I don't like about it. If there is something more I need besides defender, my computer has not told me.

My Microsoft Defender for Office 365 review

Comments: If you want the least intrusive security solution for your computer, Windows Defender is the way to go.

Pros:

Our organization was gifted Microsoft office 365 business premium for free. "Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection" anti-malware, anti-phishing, anti-spam software's has been a great addition. The best part is that it immediately triggers or alarms if any malicious item or threat is detected, and it comes with an analysis report to help you fix it. It simply protects our organization by operating behind the shield, providing us with a secure platform with an added layer of security and protection. In today's workplace, email is one of the most common and powerful forms of communication; we rely heavily on email communications with colleagues, collaborators, and donors. However, email is the most common attack vector used by threat actors to target and compromise your users in order to breach the security environment of our organization!

Cons:

Our organization's policies determine the behavior and level of protection for predefined threats. The security team at our organization, for example, can set up fine-grained threat protection at the user, organization, and domain levels. Because new threats and challenges emerge on a daily basis, policies must be reviewed on a regular basis.

Comments: I'm satisfied overall I don't see the need to use a 3rd party solution at the moment.

Pros:

I went with the higher tier plan available on the Office 365 E5 or Microsoft 365 E5 that offers more protection beyond what EOP could offer. Combining the layered defense consisting of Anti-Phishing, Anti-Spam, Anti-malware, Safe attachments, safe links, and attack simulation has proven to be an effective solution to combat email threats which continues to be on the top of the list of why organizations are getting hacked.

Cons:

There does not seem to be a consistent location in the web UI where to manage the policies and rules. The web interface can be frustrating slow at times.

Comments: A before and after in the opening of emails, especially in the workplace, to have the peace of mind of being protected against any suspicious email or unknown file.

Pros:

It is a software that does not consume resources since it is based on the cloud and it is really a very interesting protection for the mail (I use office365) and the suite programs. It works as a perfect complement to antivirus since it can detect spam, pishing, deceptive advertisements, warn about malicious links, etc.

Cons:

The only cons I find is that it cannot be applied or I did not find a way to apply it to products outside of Office365 like other mail managers.

The use of Zoom in my daily life

Comments: in general I recommend the functions that the software gives, since I have never had problems and I consider that its use is very safe

What I like most about the software is the security that is provided for my files, as well as the available functions that make my daily work easier

Comments: Pretty good. Sometimes people say you should get additional security, but for what it's worth. Defender has been perfect for me.

Pros:

Microsoft knows how to make software that is sufficient and efficient for their OS. Save me a lot of trouble because they know how to protect my PC.

Cons:

Sometimes its a little clunky but we can manage that.
