Maze 2022 review

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Ultimate is a nice tool for quality product research for all businesses. Make sure to grab your own piece of the pie. I highly recommend Maze.

Pros:

Best user testing tool with awesome features like smart reporting, easy collaboration, super fast integration, and target reach. Maze offers literally almost all the most sought-after User testing solutions at low pricing fees with quality customer support services. It has super conspicuous prebuilt templates which are essential for time-saving and it's easy to work with.

Cons:

Some prebuilt templates are not easy to work with especially the ones for a testing website sign-up flow. It had to bleed the first time.

Alternatives Considered:

Solid prototype testing tool with drag-and-drop functionality

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Conducting some solid user research and a great way to have users evaluate prototypes. Generally a good experience, rough around the edges in some aspects but overall a modern and fresh way to have users test your prototypes and websites. Maybe recruit participants otherwise though.

Pros:

Very easy to use and integrates superbly with our other tools (Figma). Importing prototypes is easy and I can develop surveys within Maze itself. Price is reasonable too, and auto generated reports at the end are a huge time saver.

Cons:

Quite limited in terms of survey design to add alongside the prototypes, including survey logic and question types. Heatmaps and recordings can be buggy and the software is clearly still in development with some features still remaining incomplete.

The tool is awesome, the company behind it not so much

1.0 3 years ago

Comments: I found Maze to be pretty good as a design testing tool. But when I left my last company forgetting to transfer the account ownership to another admin on the team, [SENSITIVE CONTENT]who responded from Maze so-called "help" team said, "If the [SENSITIVE CONTENT] is no longer available but the Team is registered under a company email address, then you will need to gain access to that email address so that we can send you the necessary confirmation code." [SENSITIVE CONTENT] ACTUALLY THINKS that a former employee can gain access to a company's email domain. This is considered "help"? [SENSITIVE CONTENT] said that they take their data protection very seriously. That's gret, [SENSITIVE CONTENT]. Not sure what that meant, exactly, because when the account comes up for annual renewal, and the credit card associated with the account is not chargeable, and the email Maze sends to the dead email address bounces back, and that account goes into default, and all the data disappears, how exactly is that data protection?

Pros:

Fairly intuitive editor, easy to deploy.

Cons:

Its presentation format can cause confusion for participants and the heat mapping function is poorly implemented.

Maze Response

We're sorry to hear that you ran into trouble with the ownership of your team. This policy is in place to protect the data entrusted to us by our customers against unauthorized access by a malicious actor. If we are contacted by someone other than the owner of the data and that individual claims to be the owner, we need to be able to get consent from the owner of record. Most companies forward a former employee's email address to someone else at the company which makes recovery easy. We can then work with them to get the necessary consent to safely transition ownership. Otherwise though we will not transfer ownership without consent from the owner of record. We regret that you didn't feel supported as a result of this, but it is an important policy in order to protect our customers' valuable data against unauthorized access. We appreciate your feedback and we'll definitely look at how best we can protect our customers while still enabling handoffs safely.

Came to fill gaps in user experience tests

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: The app is great for prototyping and user tests, especially remote and needing quick responses. In my opinion, there is still room for several improvements that could be made with certain urgency, as they would not be so laborious from a technological point of view.

Pros:

It is very easy to use and to create and manage the tests, it has a short learning curve. Integration with figma is great, it simulates devices correctly (Web, iOS, Android). Any change in figma can be updated in just a few moments. Deploying a test and sending it to multiple users is a quick task with Maze.

Cons:

From the point of view that it is a software for design and usability testing, it leaves a lot to be desired for those who assemble it. It's a bit limited in question templates, I miss a multiple choice format with images for example. The sorting card template doesn't work very well, and depending on the number of options you put for selection you will have a large vertical scroll making it difficult to understand and select, and besides, they are not cards at all. Reports are a very nice feature, but at the visualization of the results it is kind of difficult to make comparisons and identify the users at different times of the journey.

The Ultimate User Research and Product Discovery Tool!

5.0 last year

Comments: My experience with Maze has been fantastic. The platform has helped me to validate product decisions, collect valuable customer insights, and optimize user experiences that drive impact. The tool's user-friendly interface and powerful features make it an essential part of any team's research and product discovery toolkit. While there may be a learning curve for beginners, the benefits of using Maze far outweigh any challenges. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their user research and product discovery processes.

Pros:

As someone who is passionate about user experience, I love how Maze provides valuable insights into user behavior and preferences. The platform's ability to collect and analyze data from prototypes and live sites has been a game-changer for our product development process. The continuous optimization feature has helped us to identify and fix issues quickly, resulting in a better user experience for our customers. The platform is user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy for me and my team to use.

Cons:

While Maze is an excellent tool, it can be a bit overwhelming for beginners. The platform offers a lot of features, and it may take some time to learn how to use them all effectively.

Future of user testing

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

The integration with Figma that allows you to test your prototypes is great. The survey building set up is also very good and it is easy to create good surveys and you really have a lot of control. The analytics part is also great and allows you to draw conclusions from your tests.

Cons:

Because one of the biggest benefits with Maze being the integration with Figma when it doesn't work it is really annoying. For example when Figma released interactive components there was no integration for this for some time leaving us without testing capabilities for prototypes which included interactive components.

Best tool for User Testing

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Super amazing tool for testing prototypes.

Pros:

The easiness of running tests from a Figma prototype. Also the templates they provide for different types of user research are super helpful to even think of new tests to launch.I have used it for testing task completions with a prototype from Figma and you can run a test and share a link within minutes. Also they way the results are presented are outstanding

Cons:

If I had to say one bad thing is that sometimes testers have had problems on loading the prototypes I was testing.

The best tool out there for usability testing

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

What I like the most about this software is the integration with Figma for prototype testing, all the available templates for concept, content, copy or idea testing. Maze is the holy grail of usability testing. The insights are great.

Cons:

The only con is if you are a freelancer or just starting out, the price might be a little high. $50/month might be a stretch for many.
