THE online platform for all of my courses and teaching resources

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: So far, I'm really satisfied with my experience with Gurucan. I finally have a platform I can use to house all of my courses, memberships, etc... and I've seen in the roadmap that there are more options coming – like the ability to sell eBooks and similar. The platform has a lot to offer and I'm sure that, with a few tweaks and addition, is going to become a name you'll be hearing over and over again in the LMS and online course platform space.

Pros:

There are a few things I really like about Gurucan. Firstly, the fact that it enables you to create and sell a wide variety of products, such as courses, challenges and membership sites, as well as host webinars. I had been using different platforms to offer each of them, so it was great to be able to gather everything "under the same roof". Another thing that, in my opinion, make Gurucan stand out is its smartphone app. How cool does it feel to be able to offer access to a course, membership site, etc. through an actual app?? And you don't need to be a coding wizard in order to be able to use the app – or the Gurucan platform overall, for that matter! Speaking of hosting everything on one platform, many learning management systems and platforms give you the option to send emails to students...but set up actual automation that are triggered once certain parameters are met? Very useful! And since most people, nowadays, have a smartphone, Gurucan's chat feature will make sure that each message we want to send to students is seen and open (since you can send push notifications too).

Cons:

Gurucan is a growing platform so I'm sure that these two points will be addressed soon. First, the fact that you need to create various elements – for example a course, an offer, a chat for the specific course and a landing page – separately. It would be great if Gurucan would enable you to just create an element, let's say a course, and choose to automatically create everything else (offer, chat, etc.) for it. The second point that I'm sure will be worked on quite soon is the limited course and landing page builder. I think that certain features, like the ability to add columns to a section, should be included.

What You Need Now & What You Will Need Tomorrow

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: It has been great from the beginning as support was there to answer question before I even purchased and has been there every step of the way when I've needed them since. I've had the pleasure of attending a Q&A and talking with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and have gotten into detail with some of their future plans (available in their public roadmap). Right now this software is what I need to get going today but I can see the expansion and growth planned that will make it a powerful tool for tomorrow.

Pros:

The software is one of the easiest to use in my opinion. It's very intuitive and I've already recommended it to some of our clients who have tried it and that's the same comment I get back..."It's so easy". When you're running a company and want to offer courses as one of your main goods, having to spend months creating content (especially if you do videos with editing) is already time consuming. Gurucan makes it easy to take all your pieces and make the final course you want to sell.

Cons:

I wish there were more design aspects we could control and a more robust GUI. I'd love to see something similar to what GetResponse or Mailchimp offers. What would be the most amazing is to get a WordPress style editor like Elementor or Divi or anything similar so we could make amazing emails, completely customized landing pages and so much more.

Asthetic appeal and functionality missing especially when reviewing content.

2.0 2 years ago

Comments: At the outset, I actually though that for a start-up like ours this could be a solution but with my experiences on the website and the support I got it would have been nightmarish to have purchased their services and not be able to take my business online because of the lack of support that is quick and effective. In order for a customer to see value, their specific needs have to be addressed not on a public forum but on a one-on-one 10-15 minute meeting telling them what is and what's not possible on your software. But this is probably just the beginning for team GURUCAN and they'll iron out these issues in due course of time. I wish them the best of luck and would be willing to spare time should someone want to get on a zoom call and talk to me :-)

Pros:

A good thought through design for an e-learning app/website. Things like payment, feedback, user database with customizable and user-action triggered emails have been incorporated.

Cons:

1. The content at times goes missing and with little support available, it's very disheartening to work on everything all over again - they seriously need to ask people to have a word back-up simultaneously. 2. The online school page is a great idea but there are very limited options to the look of that page. In the age where websites like wix.com give you fantastic options, we have font type, font size and variety limitations in rich text. 3. Even after providing the API keys for Open Bank which was the reason I got to know about Gurucan - nothing happens, it doesn't say "you're all set". So, a preview doesn't show you anything. again, very disappointing if you've gone the whole nine yards to link it to a payment gateway. 4. There is no provision for a timed and typed-out test. The 'workout' section gives you the functionality but wants you to upload a video. Do I seriously want to record a video of a single PPT slide with a question for 10 mins while the student attempts the test - this is what we call a 'jugaad' in India but it isn't very practical. 5. The course cover page and the transitioning between lessons isn't very smooth as compared to other video-hosting e-learning sites like futurelearn, canvas, etc. I mean the whole look and feel needs to be a lot better. 6. There's lack of a customizable user registration form - like a google form integration and many more things. There's no one on one customer interaction....and I'm not allowed to write any more....wow!!!

One of the best softwares for mobile and desktop!

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: So far I'm hopeful that in the future the tech challenges will be fixed and the app will keep on growing. I really like it so far, so I trust and believe in the team behind the scenes.

Pros:

I really like this software because of the combination with computer and mobile access from the app. It has all of the most useful capabilities and it seems to be growing in promising ways. I have over 10k students already in the platform and few complains with tech.

Cons:

The 10k monthly cap for emails that include password emails and transactional emails. Not good, because if you have more than 10k subscribers you send 1 email, and you are done for the month. Also the integration with stripe needs work, it creates a payment every time people click the button, needs work. Also the "trial" for courses (when you offer them part of the course for free) should be improved, the purpose of the trial is for them to get to know the content, but they can't see what's not included in the "paid course" so they won't be motivated to buy. Needs marketing work.

Very easy to use and support customer support

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: The truth is I wasn't expecting great, and super fast support. And I don't know why, but it surprised me. The willingness to help also surprised. I used multiple SaaS and learning products as I have more than one learning site. And I am used to waiting a day or two for reply. With Gurucan, the reply has on average been either a few minutes or an hour or two. If they can maintain this, then they are onto do amazing things.

Pros:

For me the biggest feature, what I signed up for, is the ability for students to access learning material on the laptop, and then continue on the mobile via an app. For me that awesome. Secondly, I like the ability to add new content to exiting published courses today via the web, and for it to be on the iOS up almost immediately so that students can use it.

Cons:

My education "product" is more academic compared to 99% of Gurucan customers, so although Gurucan has great quizzing feature, it was basic for me. But I found a workaround via the HTML field.

Taking our business to the next level!

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Everything is strategically and carefully mapped out and designed with the user in mind. The team really loves the interface, and what will be possible for our courses!

Pros:

Gurucan's mobile-first design makes this LMS perfect for the 21st century learner. There's so much this tool can do, it really makes anything possible!

Cons:

We're still working on some of the accessibility issues, as the software is not ADA compliant - but the team is working toward making this possible!

Gurucan takes my courses on mobile

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: I was amazed how easy it is to publish my courses online with Gurucan. Almost zero technical learning curve and amazingly responsive support.

Pros:

I love that my students can use a dedicated mobile app to access my courses.

Cons:

I wish Gurucan had more integrations with other software I use and I would like the marketing automations to be more flexible with more triggers and actions.

Game Changer to Online Course Offering!

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: I've struggled to find an online course program that did everything at a cost I could afford. This fits the bill!

Pros:

This software was easy to set up and implement. The process of set-up was so concise that I was able to create an SOP from it.

Cons:

My only issue (but not a deal breaker by any means) is that I can only have one "school." Having multiple schools could be beneficial. However, the unlimited course allowance makes this easy to work around.

An affordable all-in-one Learning Management System

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: I can create courses intuitively and the results look nice.

Pros:

It provides a mobile app. This is a very important feature in today's LMS requirements.

Cons:

The UI for course admin is a bit clunky, but they said they would revamp the UI later this year. Besides, it's not essential.

Automate Your Teaching

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: I am now using this platform as a school center and it is allowing me to add various classes to the course curriculum - I LOVE that.

Pros:

I enjoyed the ability to easily establish the payment processor - there is no sense in creating a great product and then not being able to get paid for it. I also appreciate the layout - the aesthetics are quite vibrant and inviting.

Cons:

There seems to be a forced funnel whereby the offer can come only as a teaser, but the set up makes it seem like the customer is paying for the offer, not the actual project. I was given a very cumbersome way to fix this but it did not seem user friendly - too many steps.

Great value for money

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: I was about to pay for Thinkific when I found out about Gurucan on AppSumo. Getting it was a no-brainer. It does so much, for such an affordable price!
It is clear that it's still in its growing phase and that things are still being polished up, so I don't expect it to be perfect yet, but it seems extremely promising to me and I'm looking forward to seeing it reach its full potential.

Pros:

I love that it has so much in one platform. If you're not too picky, you can set up everything on Gurucan and you don't even need a separate website. Sales page, emails, webinars, online course, CRM... It's so nice to have it all in one place, and think of the money that saves!! This may be my best investment of the year.

Cons:

Email marketing isn't amazing, so I probably won't be doing that from Gurucan for now. But I wasn't expecting it to be at the level of email marketing providers, so that's ok.

Great stuff!

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Even though a few features need some polishing, this platform still deserves a 5-star rating as it has innovative features that set it apart from the classic players! The advantages and the ease with which a course creator can deploy an app far outweigh the small issues. In addition, the Gurucan team is improving things all the time which makes me very optimistic for the future of this platform.

Pros:

- Unlimited video hosting (+$9/mo for unlimited bandwidth which is very inexpensive) - Group chats. These can be public or tied to a product (plus upcoming comments for lessons) - Excellent user management (covering both web and app activity) - App which allows signing up by Google/Facebook/email. This is great for getting new people signing up for free mini-courses and building the community. - Paid option for branded app (although using the Gurucan app for your school works great too) - Push notifications (both for branded app or through the Gurucan app) - Customizable interface (more options than Teachable/Thinkific etc.) - Good course building options (again better than most) - "Articles" section which can be customized for blog posts or extra materials (ex. downloads). Again these can be public or tied to a purchase. - Decent automation builder for push and email notifications, tagging, etc. - Good help center (considering that this is a new company) - Very responsive customer support.

Cons:

- Poor checkout process (but you can integrate your own cart through Zapier). - Poor documentation on setting up PayPal as a payment processor. On some other platforms, it's just a two-click process. - Unclear if Stripe and Paypal can be used simultaneously. - No customizable grouping/categories for courses. It has filtering which is very obscure and unfriendly. I would like to be able to categorize "my courses", "free courses", "premium courses" etc. Suggestion: This would be possible if we had more than one "courses" option in the sidebar. - Text is not customizable (ex. titles like "exercises" and phrases like "Available for forever since started" or "you have been expelled" are very inappropriate for my use and I'd like to change them) - Missing DKIM/SPF for email.

Great Alternative To Were Press Platforms

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Gurucan finally enabled me to get my course membership site up and running. There have been some bugs in their system, but none of my membership have complained about the setup or features of the platform. I hope to see Gurucan grow over the coming months.

Pros:

When I found out about Gurucan, I learned that I could build my membership site outside of my WordPress site. The Gurucan platform includes modules for building courses, challenges, and quizzes, as well as setting up membership levels. It also includes a credit card gateway setup with Stipe, PayPal, and Apple Pay. Setting up my membership with Gurucan was a lot faster than using Membership Press, and it doesn't require a lot of steps to add content once the platform is set up. If you don’t have a website, you can use Gurucan to set up your entire membership, it enables you to create landing pages to sell your membership. I though have my sales pages on my main website, and they connect to my Gurucan checkout pages. After customers sign up, they log into the Gurucan platform that I set up. I'm glad I was able to get a lifetime membership to Gurucan, but I think I would subscribe to it if I didn't get that membership.

Cons:

The user interface and the built-in email system for Gurucan could be improved, as well as the quiz feature. Gurucan is still pretty new, so I expect to see a lot more development over the coming months.

Highly recommend Gurucan for all your online course needs!

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall Gurucan is a really fantastic tool and with the few improvements I think it could be a potential leader in the online course industry! I love the fact that they are integrating webinars too. It's great to have all the services you need as an entrepreneur all in one. I'm enjoying Gurucan so far and would highly recommend to anyone to host their online courses.

Pros:

Gurucan is a great tool to host my online courses. It has a very attractive interface, it's very user friendly and has a lot of different options to use such as email marketing, different offers that you can bundle courses together, webinars, discussions quizzes etc. The customer service is fantastic with Gurucan also, I always have a lot of questions and they are never impatient when answering (even if something was in an article and I missed it!) Really like the ease of use when uploaded videos, adding attachments, homework as necessary and there is no limit to this which is great.

Cons:

Some cons are some of the missing features such as; limiting the uses of coupons so that people don't share them and avail of all the discounts. Another improvement to be made is arranging your courses on your home page (at the moment it just automatically populates). For example I would like to move my courses to show the cheapest first but don't have this option. Another vital change needed is the the modules of your course to show on left hand side or right hand side when in another lesson. I know from my experience and other students when going through the course you might want to skip the modules but at the moment on Gurucan you can't see the other modules when you're in a lesson. You also can't click previous lesson.

Comments: I am overly impressed with the versatile tools Gurucan has to offer. If you are in a training & coaching business looking to spread your knowledge to the world, then Gurucan could help your business to go on the lucky way!

Pros:

As I started to experiment with Gurucan, I found out that it is very simple to use, and it has some very cool feature. It is like having all needed products in 1 for an online training and coaching business: • Landing Pages • Prerecorded Video Courses • Blog Articles • On Demand Content • Email Broadcast & Automation • Push Notifications • Live Webinars & Autowebinars • Various Integrations • Chats • Homework • Quizzes • Challenges • Coupons • Payments by Stripe and Paypal integration • + Mobile App!!! and more…

Cons:

• Live Webinars & Autowebinars, unfortunately still in beta and should be improved

Perfect tool for running a small professional consultancy training groups

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: A+++. I'm really liking the customizability of the tool, the multitude of features for my every problem. It's been a smooth sailing and I look forward to staying with Gurucan for years.

Pros:

Gurucan is a versatile platform equipping me with tools for offering courses and training classes for my customers in automated manner. The support team is great and always there to back me up. The platform is feature rich with the built-in CRM, LMS, Landing page builder & the mobile app - just great. There's also a custom option of getting a white label mobile app (!!!) which is very exceptional.

Cons:

There's not much to dislike, at least with my brief period of starting up with the platform. The platform works great, their support team is beyond great and the feature kit is bar none - the main problem I've had has to do with navigating the product but that's kind of positive since the amount of features is breathtaking. Just takes a lot of effort to learn your way through the whole tool.

My GURUCAN EXPERIENCE...

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Till now my overall experience is fine and I am satisfied with the platform and look forward for more updates as per their Roadmap. Now that I have started using the same I will look for a while and have a hands on experience and then will make further comments on the platform

Pros:

First, I used TRIAL VERSION and now I have subscribed GURUCAN SERVICES. It was a great experience and I was delighted with the features and functionalities available on the platform. It's really nice, easy and convenient option for all the online course co ordinators. Also from USER point of view its very easy and comfortable and have multiple access option for e.g Mobile, Tablet and Desktop. It has really good membership functionalities which take care of all the admin work related to it and also keep in touch with them through email and push notifications. This is the avesome feature since it directly communicates with the Users.

Cons:

Some security features with respect to course material needs to be addressed. Other is device specific login should be considered. Further integration with Gmail is missing. The quiz results should be downloadable. Few other features can added to quizzes for better quality Since GURUCAN is just at the initial stage, I expect it will grow and make itself better to lead the e-learning industry.

Gurucan, an LMS with a lot of potential

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: So far my experience with Gurucan has its negative and positive points. The platform has everything I can ask from an LMS, but when you try to implement the functionalities, there is always some problem that prevents the overall experience from being smooth.

Pros:

Gurucan is a cloud-based LMS platform where you can offer courses to your audience. What I like most about Gurucan is that it has everything you would want from an LMS. In Gurucan you can create courses, challenges, webinars and even create simple marketing automations. Gurucan is an ambitious platform and it shows.

Cons:

Gurucan has several points to improve. The overall UX of the platform is not excellent and the look and feel also has a lot of room for improvement. Sometimes the platform has been down for hours, something unacceptable in a SaaS. However, I believe that the team behind Gurucan has a lot of motivation and desire to grow, so I have no doubt that in the future it will be an excellent alternative to better known LMS platforms.

An Impressive Online Course Creation Platform

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall Gurucan is a great online course creation tool that I highly recommend. I really think with the improvements suggested and implemented, it will be a real winner!

Pros:

I'm really impressed at all of the features Gurucan has built in to one platform. They have online course creation, bundles, email marketing and more! The team is very responsive with responding to support enquiries and they are open to receiving feedback on how they can improve their platform. I would recommend them to anyone looking to start selling an online course.

Cons:

The biggest con would have to be the layout while you're inside a course. There isn't a list of each lesson on the side of the screen to show you all of the lessons in the course. You're only able to click next lesson but you can't go back to the previous lesson - it would be better if you could mark the lesson as completed. And there isn't a progress bar to show you how much progress you've made inside the course.

Gurucan Gives You Full-Featured Online Courses

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

Lots of great things to like about this as they've packed this full of features. Things that stand out from other LMS platforms: - Group and one-on-one chats with students. They can be public or paid. - Mobile-focused. While others are focused on desktop, Gurucan is one that focuses on Mobile. - Blog area for me to put extra documents and any news to share - Email automation tools built-in

Cons:

Would like a bit more customization when it comes to the desktop UI/UX. The mobile focus is great, but also need a desktop version that is just as great.

Brilliant for content creators

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall Gurucan is a brilliant new platform for professionals who create content and want to engage with their followers/members in one platform that caters for all of their business needs. From CRM to opportunity to build courses and talk to members in chats.
Even though there is plenty more potential for improvements, I cannot recommend it enough! Worth it!

Pros:

- easy to use - offers endless configurations of pricing and packages - very responsive support team - plenty of features - great ability to white label! - offers app as well - sweet!

Cons:

- it needs more abilities to configure headings - it needs more settings for the rich text, including more fonts, so people can really go further with their branding and use their branding fonts etc. - waiting for Webinars to be fully functional + appear on the app - not simply in Beta, as I have tons of these and I'm itching to publish them - course certificates still in the road map for development

Great tool! Its mobile first approach makes all the difference!

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: I have a great experience with Gurucan. It has mobile first approach, hence the way they designed their platform is a little different from other platforms (I have been using Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, New Zenler), but it really makes a lot of sense.

Pros:

I love how intuitive it is for both course creators and learners. The possibility to create courses and membership in one tool is amazing. They have some unique features, such as Challenges and Offers - that open a lot of opportunities for course and membership site creation.

Cons:

Their footer has some adverts for Visa and Master Card, and point to the download link of their mobile app, which makes this tool not 100% white label. I hope they will have a solution for that soon.

All in one learning platform

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

It's an all in one learning platform, offering course creation, email marketing, landing pages, and even an app with push notifications. It's way more affordable than other solutions like Kajabi.

Cons:

It is a newer platform, which means the page building functionality is pretty limited. I look forward to seeing how they develop it in the future.
