Sage Business Cloud - Cannot Do Business Without It
Pros:
I love the fact that my clients and I can share the same system in different locations. It also has an app that I can use on the go for invoicing and quotes.
Cons:
Currently, I don't have any grips with the system.

A good all round accounting product, good integration, but pricey as the users increase
Comments: We replaced Sage50 with Sage200, and also Sap B1 was migrated to Sage200, with the help of Sage partners at TN4 this was a relatively pain free migration in all cases, and they all worked well to meet our timescales and requirements, as well as helping us find other partners to integrate Sage200 with other related solutions such as barcode scanning, shipping, and MRP solutions that are not in Sage out of the box.
Pros:
This software does everything a small, medium or relatively large sized business would need. The backend database is SQL server, so it's fast and well structured, and we found lots of modules and external products integrate well with it.
Cons:
Implementation and training needed external consultants to do it at scale and at speed. The licence model is per user, so as soon as you start adding quite a few employees the cost of running the software gets rather pricey, though it's comparable to SAP B1 for example. We used our own servers to host the application and database, and although it's called "cloud" it's really not, but perhaps in the future.

Why Sage Business Cloud Accounting Is the Best Solution For Independent Bookkeepers
Comments: Sage Cloud Based Accounting - runs not only our own business, its client structure and management thereof, it forms a key central hub from where we can deploy the various other Sage functions we use for our clients be that accounting functions, CIS, Payroll, year end accounts, VAT etc. Put in concise words - one log on - one hub - everything contained within it. It liberally is a one stop solution for a bookkeeping or accounting practice of any size.
Pros:
Sage provides a one stop cloud based solution with the power to tackle the most complex clients and the ease of use to mean that using it is not a chore - its well laid out, graphically pleasing and the menus have a logical and intuitive structure - it is easy to gain proficiency in its use and deployment and its advanced functionality is attainable without too much head scratching. Customer service is world class - and support features such as Sage University and Sage Champions are second to none - all in all its a mid-price point software package that does it all as well as anyone and often a great deal better backed than any of the competition, and it is backed up by the best aftermarket support package, customer service structure in the marketplace - with Sage you are never alone - they back you 100% in supporting you and your business and that alone is priceless in this day and age. Put simply - Sage is pivotal to our success and without them we could not do what we do.
Cons:
No - I say no because Sage are good enough to listen to improvement suggestions from end users, log them and incorporate the key ones in their roadmap - again the transparency of Sage and the inclusivity means that any teething problems are documented and supported until they are untimely resolved.

Sage One - Good for a Chicken Farmer in Zimbabwe
Comments: No comment, as it was developed by Pastel and not a lot of effort was placed in developing a descent accounting platform.
Pros:
Sage is very cheap, but with it comes a entry level accounting platform. Definately not a Rolls Royce like Microsoft Business Central.
Cons:
Uploading and deleting items and customers and suppliers. Very entry level. This product does not come close to Business Central. Sage is more an accounting platform for third world countries.

Excellent value and functionality for small non-profits
Comments: We are a small non-profit and had hoped that Sage Accounting would reduce the time taken inputting data, and improve the quality of our financial information. The software has saved us at least 2 days work every month.
Pros:
Very easy to use, so perfect for users with limited financial knowledge. Linked bank accounts make month end bank reconciations quick and accurate, saving a lot of time.
Cons:
The reporting section is not ideal for us, but still very useful.

I really wanted this to work
Comments: Unfortunately my experience was poor. I loved their desktop program and really wanted to love their cloud solution just as much.
Pros:
I love cloud solutions and the reports from this would have been nice.
Cons:
I was hit with what seemed like every road block as I tried to switch from my Sage Desktop program into their cloud program. Customer Support was lacking and I ended up joining a Facebook support group of other accountant/bookkeepers making a similar switch. In the end I had to make the decision to let it go or loose my productivity.

SAge Cloud Accounting
Comments: We really like Sage business cloud and have the payroll too which is good that its all in one place,
Pros:
We moved from Sage 50 accounts to Sage one around 2 years ago when a member of the team left and it has been beneficial as we can log in no matter where we are and complete our work. It is also very easy to use and quick to train other people on.
Cons:
There is still work that needs improved and coming from Sage 50 that had alot of reports and functions it is hard to not have them.

5 Star Product
Comments: I really love Sage Cloud, it is a great piece of software which supports how the industry is moving forward.
Pros:
I love how I can connect to Sage from anywhere and manage my client's accounts.
Cons:
I still feel that there are a lot of functions that were available on the desktop version that are not on the cloud version.

Fantastic product and support

Pros:
Sage Cloud is very easy to use for people who aren't Accountants. It's simple lay out makes it easy to train clients in person, video calling or even on the phone.
Cons:
The inability to split bank payments into different nominal catogeries.
Kirsty
Sage is easy to set up and use for day to day accounting
Pros:
Using inputting of invoices for both customers and suppliers makes doing the VAT easier
Cons:
We have not used the mobile expenses function

a tool to trust if there is budget for it
Comments: very good, all the accounting department can work with it.
Pros:
the robustness of the software, it does not save locally any file, is connecting to the server for every query.
Cons:
the price is very high, the company need to be bigger to be able to pay this software, the customer service is not very good in the it section, they are accountants.

Can definitely Work with IT!!!!!
Comments: Ability to meet the objectives of the finance department and make the workflow alot easier in terms of maximizing the efficiency
Pros:
The ability to integrate with other Sage solutions was great. We had some other 3rd party solutions which needed to be integrated and the ISV already had integration points available
Cons:
The price was a little off but we if you need the solution its worth the extra cost

Easy to use
Comments: I love the fact that the product integrates with other products such as payroll.
Pros:
I loved the fact that for the most part everything seemed extremely easy to use. I did run into a few issues, but I found the support staff were extremely helpful. I would like to point ou that I am not an accountant by trade and give my books to a qualified accountant at the end of each year. This product served that purpose entirely.
Cons:
The bank statements duplicated on one of the imports, but to be honest Im not sure if I did something wrong.

A solid accounts package. Many useful features allowing simple accounting for small businesses.
Pros:
It is relatively intuitive for people with only a basic knowledge of business accounting. It allows easy manipulation of accounting data and you are able to provide periodical reports which means you always know the state of your companies finances. It can be accessed from anywhere and at any time and allows you to restrict certain users to particular areas. You are able to give your accountant a direct log in to your accounts which makes annual tax accounting very quick and simple. Sage One can be tied to your bank accounts so that all items that pass through your accounts can be automatically uploaded into sage saving lots of time on entering data. VAT filing and reports can be done instantly and sent directly to HMRC. Can also be used directly with Sage Payroll meaning all information from payroll is automatically added to Sage One accounts.
Cons:
If you're internet connection is weak this can slow things down a bit though on the whole it is a very stable and trustworthy platform. The only thing I find a little bit weak is the inability to create direct backups of your accounts either your computer desktop or external drives. The only method of backing up the information is to print reports of all ledgers, invoices, receipts and audit trail. This means you will always have the information but in the event of a catastrophic failure it would be highly time consuming to re-input all the details. There would be no obvious method of doing this.

Simple to learn, gives you great data
Comments: I started a new job and I was up and running on invoicing at the end of the week, by week two I was able to post cash. It did take a little bit of time to familiarize myself the reports and with the general ledger. When I covered accounts payable it was also very intuitive. One of the most intuitive computer systems I have worked with ever.
Pros:
The company I got a job with a few years ago used Sage, I was apprehensive about learning a new computer system but Sage was easy. It was intuitive if you have a little experience and accounting knowledge. It gives very great reports and gives you a lot of basic detail. I like.the fact that you can drill down to give various information.
Cons:
There were a few times that I wish there was an online help to explain a few questions. There are a lot of reports and I feel like you may have to look at several reports to pull some advanced details.

Abysmal software and customer service experience
Comments: It appears as though Sage panicked when Xero and other cloud providers appeared in their market and so they rushed out a poor bit of software. They haven't developed it and so it is a long way behind its competitors, with basic functionality missing and a poor user interface. I have also had several problems with basic features (link the bank feed) which they have no idea how to resolve. The customer support experience is also the slowest and most painful experience I have ever come across from a SaaS provider. It is telling that they are slashing their prices at the same time Xero is able to raise theirs!
Pros:
The only two good parts of the software are the discounted price and it clearly shows you how long until the end of your VAT period.
Cons:
Unreliable Very little development in the 6 years I have used it Slow to do basic tasks The interface isn't user-friendly There is no way to take a back up your data The customer service is slow - typical experience is 20+ min wait for live chat, no response to emails and 15+ wait for phone support (on a premium rate number)

Comparable Systems Cost Much, Much More
Comments:
Built on the Salesforce platform so it can handle any number of users. Sage has initially targeted the small business segment with Live, however it is just as good for mid-market or enterprise. Consider the following features:
Capable of handling 1-1000+ users.
SAAS (hosted and browser-based) so no software to install. No server needed.
Multi-Company consolidation
Inter-Company transactions
Dimensional accounting
Multi-Currency
Multi-Language
Purchase Requisition/Approvals and Workflow
Easy setup but can be configured as complex as you want, it's a very open database if you choose to use it that way
Open API, integrates with many other web-based apps
Well integrated with SalesForce
Tablet and iPhone/Android apps
These types of features are typically only available in enterprise level software like Intacct, Acumatica, Financial Force, X3, NetSuite, Oracle or SAP. You won't find this in Quickbooks, Freshbooks, Xero, Sage 50 or any other entry-level system. There's always been Microsoft Dynamics, Sage 100/300/500, Epicor, Infor and others, but those aren't true cloud based/browser based systems, nor are they inexpensive. What's unique about Sage Live is that they've priced it to be affordable for most companies - starts at monthly for 2 users and 1 company. 2 users and 100 companies is only $$$d/month. That is ridiculously less expensive than the other enterprise level systems out there.
You can certainly use Sage Live as a small business, but the nice thing is that as you grow you can stay on the same system and not feel the need to change. If you are a mid-sized or large company, you owe it to yourself to take a look at Live before you make a decision on spending lots more money for perhaps the same thing.
Cons:
It has only been around for 3 years, so it's not as fully developed as some more mature offerings out there. They are adding new stuff all the time but you might find some features missing that you are used to.

Good product BAD after service
Comments: Great software until you encounter problems. Then it becomes useless because of the lack of support.
Pros:
Easy to use... when it is working. Interface very modern and quick to jump between the menus.
Cons:
No after sales. Lots of departments passing the buck. Any software is only as good as their support.

Good solution for the small business owner
Pros:
It is fairly easy to use. It provides the basic needs of small business owners. Helps me with their tax prep needs
Cons:
Navigation through the product isn't seamless

Does accounting as it should be
Comments: Easy enough to use.
Pros:
As an online accounting system (enterprise) it does what any company and industry would need. You can configure it based on your company processes, but the reason you would want to use this, is that they have streamlined the process that you can adapt to, instead of the other way around. Why re-invent the wheel?
Cons:
Too proprietary. You must go through their accredited vendors to do most of the modifications and reports, unless you train and really go deep.

On the Wright path
Comments: Well if you have clients like I do it will make your life easier and more organized
Pros:
I first had this software when it was peach tree. It has a ton of features more then you will ever need with the ability to back everything up.
Cons:
It takes time to learn there is so much. I would start using this software has soon had you can. I started using it in the middle of my second year of business back in 2014 and it time some time inputting data but once it's there this software made my life a breeze but you will need to take time to set it up

Sage Business Cloud
Comments: It is great. During the lockdown period it has carried us.
Pros:
It's on cloud, you can access it anywhere. Hardly experience downtime. We were informed when the system was down. They were busy with upgrades. It has very good and user friendly, built-in reports. I also liked the bank integration by linking sage to the bank and upload seemlessly. Customer invoices can be emailed directly and there is an email report.
Cons:
There is no hard close. Even it the period is closed, you can go back and reopen and make changes. This compromise data integrity.

We've used SageOne Accounting (and it's predecessor) for many years - love it!
Pros:
We find it does what it says it does. It's very flexible, not only because of Cloud access, but in terms of products, sales invoicing and reporting. The addition of integration of PayRoll has saved us both time and money.
Cons:
To be honest, Iuse it without fuss. I'd prefer the Other Payments option to be in the 'Purchasing' section rather than the 'Banking' section and maybe a 'custom' layout option for Invoices - not fields, but presentation. That's all.

Sage has made a big improvement on managing our accounts
Comments:
Improved recording of accounts and better organisation of data.
Ability to generate reports and forecasts.
Pros:
As a small business this has helped us to manage our both payroll and accounts. The initial motivator to look at online packages was for auto-enrolment. Having used the accounting package as well it's helped us to organise our accounts better and it is a lot easier to get information and reports from it. The technical support either via self help, web chat and telephone is excellent. I've made a few mistakes initially and these were easily resolved with support line help.
Cons:
This will be common to all packages. I now feel that using this software is making us do some tasks that our accountant used to do. Unfortunately I feel that some of this relies on a bit of an understanding of accountancy principles that I didn't have. I needed the support to help explain this and how to find some options. Once done though it's easy to find again.
