Very Happy Customers!

Comments: We had a big job in switching over our volunteer software system to VolunteerLocal from our previous system. I have been so pleased with not only the capabilities of VolunteerLocal's system, but the customizable options that allow us to really capture and streamline information in a way that makes the most sense for the unique needs of our organization. And again, you simply cannot beat the personal, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service. I would highly recommend this system to other Volunteer Managers in the nonprofit sector.

Pros:

VolunteerLocal has been a phenomenal partner for our organization. The software is fully customizable and has helped us streamline how we capture volunteer information and schedule volunteers. The best part is the phenomenal customer service from Brian, Emily, and the rest of the team. They have been tremendous partners in helping us set up our site in a way that will most benefit our organization.

Cons:

We have been incredibly satisfied customers. While some aspects of the set up process were a bit confusing for this technologically-challenged employee, the team was so patient, kind, and helpful in assisting with our setup. Any roadblocks that came up were kindly and quickly addressed by the excellent customer service.

unable to generate a report after the event. downloading info: would pick certain titles: still showed the entire info in excel: still had to format the sheet, and delete columns

Comments: The features are great! It is a good tool for volunteer management. I'm not sure about the price to be honest, but it definitely does the job well. And if there are things that you don't like about the software because it's confusing to navigate, customised customer service definitely makes up for it. You're definitely paying for a very efficient customer service experience.

Pros:

I like the customisable options and the ability to reach out to mass participants. I especially liked the customer service provided. There are YouTube tutorials and a very attentive customer service team that can answer your specific questions. I had a query about volunteers signing up for jobs and shifts, and customer service agent [sensitive content hidden] really gave me top notch service, even providing me a customised and in-depth video tutorial.

Cons:

It can be a little confusing. If you missed a small step, it might affect your event or programme overall. Or it makes it very clear how we can set-up the page as admin, but there is little help if you're a registered volunteer and if you need help navigating the page. As admin, it is necessary for us to understand the volunteers' procedures and methods to achieve certain things, and there might be an inconvenience if we can't answer them as well.

Comments: It's been 10/10. I've been the only employee using is at this time. We implemented it with our staff, then our regular volunteers then all volunteer. It was a seamless process.

Pros:

The customer service has been amazing. As we've started with this new system, we've had so many questions. They're easy to get ahold of. Easy to video chat with or email or even call. They're always available. Also out biggest need these 12 years, has been the ability for volunteers to sign up on their own, online. But we had many ideas of what we wanted in a product and volunteer local has truly met all our needs.

Cons:

They're not compatible with our CRM at this time.

Pros:

How easy it was to use and how it helped us better manage volunteer groups and communication.

Cons:

Having to go through each email draft in order to see the one I was looking for was a bit frustrating. It would be nice if you could search the title rather than scroll through each one to look for it.

Amazing and Quick Response to my Cry for Help!

Pros:

I love having all of my volunteers' information for all of the events in one place. Also love that when I need help the VL staff is quick to respond and they are always kind (they don't treat me like I'm an idiot! lol!)

Cons:

Sometimes I find the email a bit awkward, but love that it is an option!!!

Pros:

User friendly. Excellent training videos are available to use at any time. Knowledgeable and helpful staff who handle training and follow-up very well. They answer questions and " please help me calls" the fastest I have ever experienced. Most valuable to keep on working in the area I needed help. The ability to populate a current event from a previous event is valuable. Archived volunteer information is always avaiable.

Cons:

I can't think of any. Everything I need is taken care of with their software and follow up

Great support staff

Comments: It's been a work in progress for me but, the product have really elevated our volunteer recruitment and communications.

Pros:

I like the flexibility in customizing Fields to accommodate my needs. The ability to set up templates to communicate is great. The support staff is always responsive with clear and concise information/directions. They also act on suggestions to make the productive better.

Cons:

Occasionally I couldn't find the information needed and had to reach out to support staff for help. improvements have been made over the last year or so to make it more user friendly.

Excellent Customer Service

Comments: The staff at VolunteerLocal are top tier. They have gone above and beyond helping us get this up and running and we are so grateful to them for their assistance.

Pros:

I love the versatility of VolunteerLocal. Our organization has multiple departments with a large variety of volunteer roles to be filled. Each department has unique needs and with the help of the support staff we're able to customize the functionality to suit each department.

Cons:

It can be a little intimidating when you first start working on VolunteerLocal because of all the options. There is plenty of help from VolunteerLocal support to overcome this, but for anyone less technologically literate it can be daunting.

Great Platform for Organizing Volunteers

Comments: VolunteerLocal has been a useful tool to help organize volunteers in my position as Volunteer Director.

Pros:

I like the ease of use from the perspective of registering. I can share the signup link, and volunteers are able to clearly chose jobs.

Cons:

There is a learning curve for VolunteerLocal. The platform is unlike others I have used in the past. I wouldn't necessarily consider this a con, but there have been some kinks I have had to work through.

Great Tool for Volunteer Recruitment and Management

Comments: I have enjoyed using the software to manage almost 2000 volunteers for my race. I learn more about it each time I use it and the company is very responsive and gracious even when the issues I bring up are almost always my fault!

Pros:

I love how robust the software is for signing up new volunteers and also keeping them informed of their jobs and shifts with the communication tab. Ease of use for volunteers to sign in and make changes or additions to their volunteer shift.

Cons:

The layout/design is a bit dated with regards to how it looks, but the functionality of it is very good.

Great service, easy to work with

Pros:

Easy to customize and view. The customer service is on point

Cons:

Many little items I wish could be easier or more customized. For example when choosing a group to email I would like to be able to deselect certain emails within that group on the same page. The other way is too clunky.

Exceptional Customer Service means client success

Comments: I have said many times (and will continue to say!) that the people at VolunteerLocal are amazing! Changes and developments take time because coding is detailed work, but I know the team hears and cares about the roadblocks I have, and they take pride in removing them. They also strive to think of new features that will improve the client experience. As the administrator, I see myself as the person who bridges the gap between volunteers who believe in our mission and the opportunities for them to serve, trying to minimize that gap along the way. But I am also the person who bridges the gap between our staff and all of the information held in the database; they need to be able to seamlessly interact with the information whether I am in the office or not, and they need to be able to see the value each volunteer brings. I have confidence that VolunteerLocal can help me be that bridge.

Pros:

Initially, the selling point for VolunteerLocal was the fact that volunteers can manage so much by themselves. Being able to submit an application online, to sign up for/cancel shifts by themselves, and see all of our available opportunities on one landing page was a big factor. But as we use it longer and offer more types of opportunities, I have come to appreciate the commitment to help us solve problems and improve the interface for all parties--all because the client's happiness is such a high goal for each VolunteerLocal staff person. Whether I need help understanding how to set up an event for our particular needs, making updates to the data we're collecting, or dreaming of how the database can better serve us, I know the staff is in my corner.

Cons:

Because we use our data differently than many, I have struggled the most in interacting with older data. Once events are archived, I cannot see that information in volunteer profiles (though I can see much of what I need to know from the search screen). If it wouldn't make the dashboard so cluttered, I would be tempted to leave events active permanently. Additionally, since many of our volunteers come to us in order to fulfill community service hours, it would be great for them to be able to see what they've done somehow.

Comments: My experience has been excellent. Implementing the system was smooth and is easy to use. I can't say enough about customer service. They are very attentive to answering your questions in a timely manner. They genuinely care about making sure the software meets your needs.

Pros:

The software was easy to adapt from our previous system. It is easy to set up and use. The software can be adapted to meet your individual needs which was really helpful. The training was excellent. No question was too stupid to ask. Customer service is outstanding. Very friendly, patient and response is very quick.

Cons:

There are too many screens that you have to go through to sign up for a shift. They are working on streamlining the process.

Volunteer Local was Great Choice for Volunteer Management

Pros:

The Customer Service received while considering the switch to Volunteer Local and after we starting implementing it in our organization has been amazing! Everyone is very helpful and responds very quickly to my MANY questions! Although most features are easy to set up and use, if I couldn't figure something out, help was always available. The video tutorials are great, too

Cons:

There are a few minor features that are not yet available that I would like to have. For instance, I would like to have application and sign up notifications to be able to go to more than one team member.

Amazing Customer Service

Comments: Customer service is one of my favorite aspects of Volunteer Local. From the top down, I receive immediate responses from the whole team. And it's usually on features not yet created, but the team will figure it out and make changes to the product to accommodate our needs the best that they can. I just can't say enough praises for this team!

Pros:

I use Volunteer Local multiple times per day, every single day. Our organization could not run efficiently without it. It is very easy to set up events and also very easy for volunteers to navigate

Cons:

There's nothing that I don't like. Maybe in the future a more useful app for both the admin and the volunteers? (I haven't been on the app in a while, maybe it's more helpful now.)

Great Asset to those who manage volunteers

Comments: The customer support for this company is out of this world. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has gone above and beyond to help make this process possible for us.

Pros:

I can integrate messages to go out to volunteers without having to remember to do it. I have 5 different message that go out within a certain time frame and once it's set up I never have to do it again.

Cons:

Nothing as of right now. I've only been using the system for 4 months so I feel I'm still learning and asking questions.
