Comments: If cost is not an issue, this is should be the tool to go to. This is one of the best IAM tools present out there.

Pros:

The deployment and app integration with Okta is fairly simple. The tool is very admin friendly and user friendly. It's due to it's ease of use and wide variety of features that it offers, it is one of the best IAM tools and regarded as one of the best SSO solutions out there. The SSO integration is very simple and straightforward with most of the apps and most of the vendors that support SSO integration with Okta. The option to have an independent directory as well as an option to integrate with your existing directory works quite well. Other features such as life cycle management, Directory service and threat management make it a complete package. If cost is not an issue, this is should be the tool to go to. The documentation is very clear and the supoort is very responsive. The deployment takes less than 3 months.

Cons:

The only downside is the cost which is much higher as compared to its competitors

Comments: 1.Okta gives freedom on their wide ranges of application on one platform.
2. Security and maintaining each individual data in one application format is the best part of Okta.
3. Simple and user-friendly dashboard helps to sorted things.
4. Variety and uniqueness of Applications Icons is likely most.

Pros:

1.Different services in one platform. 2. Simple and user friendly dashboard. 3. Authentic verification with collaborated client. 4. Multiple tracking system of different applications.

Cons:

1. Approval and access process for user too lengthy for new users. 2. Service provider maintenance or traffic system.

They will sell you then drop you and won't get in touch until it's billing time again

Comments: We had a terrible experience with Okta. Our sales rep left out very important details that would have dissuaded us signing up. First, the SSO paywall for 3rd parties is so massive and of course they left out that detail. For $12k per year, our costs would exceed $50k in 3rd party charges, just to connect the core apps we use on a daily basis. Second, they said Okta would work seemlessly for our customer service reps, who check in on email accounts and different software services that we use; however, after talking to 3 customer service reps, we found out that we could not achieve this using Okta, making this all-or-nothing deal fall short of our needs. Thirdly, they insisted that we pay them to get support on the product that they sold us on. I would highly recommend first googling "SSO wall of shame" and thinking twice about signing with Okta. They are hounding us to pay for year 2 when we did not even launch it in year 1. Steer clear of these guys, they will bait and switch and they only care about signing new customers.

Pros:

Getting the team set up was relatively straightforward.

Cons:

Setting up individual apps can be tedious and not straightforward. They offered no support unless we paid them. The paywall for SSO is very steep. Multiple users cannot access single accounts using Okta Verify.

Intutive Identity provider

Comments: I have been using it for past few year and have been growing my skillsets as I go! It is very agile tool if your company is focused on automation and management of various software.

Pros:

It is a multi-tasking tool that can be used for variety if things such as dynamic grouping, SCIM provisioning, SAML, user on/off boarding etc. The most powerful tool within Okta is its workflows.

Cons:

Pricing, its an expensive product and you rarely get any discounts.

Streamlined and Secure, but with a Learning Curve

Comments: Overall, my experience with Okta has been positive, particularly in how it streamlines identity and access management across the organization. Comments: With Okta I can connect to an existing relational database. I have been fond of Okta, I will choose it over and over again.

Pros:

Has very incredible features and it's ease of use is on another level. It provides strong authentication and authorization and provides the highest level of security. A very reliable and trustworthy software when it comes to delivering secure products. This is an interesting software that you ought to try.

Cons:

Unfortunately no cons for Okta, it amazing.

Comments: Their customer service is top notch. A five star experience just as we expected.

Pros:

Okta's ease of use and it's comprehensive features makes it our number one choice. Very flexible and automates workflows. Okta has been of great help to us due to it's ease of intergrations with MDM platforms for assessing devices. No other identify management tool that matches it's flexibility,go for it.

Cons:

Okta does it's best and it's prices are affordable.

Comments: I find Okta efficient, beneficial and easy to use while feeling confident that my information is secure.

Pros:

Most important, Okta blends perfectly well with existing solutions bringing the best technology on the table. A platform that meets all our requirements exploring customer and workforce identity cloud.

Cons:

Unfortunately, there are complaints that the software sends an error message even when you've entered the correct password.

Comments: Okta has surely upgraded our identity management by a notch with their product, which integrates well and really provides proactive customer support. Despite initial setup challenges, it proves to be the winner for legal professionals who seek success in both security and compliance. It does instill confidence that one's data is secure and allows our team to be productive and compliant.

Pros:

I really like the granular control over user permissions that Okta gives us; it makes all the difference for data security and compliance. Integration with our legal technology stack has really minimized workflows and audits. Advanced multi-factor authentication and single sign-on capabilities lock up the platform securely and in user-friendly ways. More impressive, Okta easily flexes towards compliance of ever-changing regulations and management of diverse application access.

Cons:

More support during the onboarding phase would be helpful.

Identity and password management by Okta is excellent

Comments: My experience with Okta has been quite good and has saves my time resetting password that I forget.

Pros:

Okta make it easy for me to expediting login process to my various account. I only need one primary login details and from it, it will store and remember all other username and password for each software that I have. I like it because I will not have to remember manually all my account login details anymore.

Cons:

The process to add each login details from different website and software is lengthy and boring.

Excellent Authentication Tool - Okta

Comments: - The overall experience with Okta is excellent as it is used on every day cadence by all the users in the company for various reasons.

Pros:

- Okta is the most efficient and critical application that we use every day and every moment for single-sign-on authentication, password management - Okta is integrated with Salesforce and all applications to perform some business automations accordingly without having the user to login multiple times into multiple applications - Okta has a very good features OOB which are used by enterprise customers at a wider range

Cons:

- The pricing for Okta can be more affordable when compared to other alternate solutions in the market - The UI can be more customized and add more OOB features to integrate and build custom APIs - The support can be more responsive on critical issues at all times

Hands Down The Best SSO/Adaptive MFA Solution on the Market

Comments: We have been more than pleased with Okta. It makes signing into a bunch of different applications so much easier and only having to remember one password. Without having any prior knowledge with SAML, being able to set up new applications was still very simple and straightforward.

Pros:

Okta has simplified everything for us. The process of setting up applications is pretty straight forward, and the number of applications that are supported is amazing. The adaptive MFA is really neat so we can easily balance security and usability to meet just about everyone's needs. The amount of work we have to do to onboard a new user has been reduced drastically through the support of SCIM and APIs. They continue to innovate and bring out new features that further enhance the usability and security of Okta.

Cons:

Only minor issues with Okta, primarily being chose of wording for some of the settings that lead to some confusion on when Okta sessions expire.

Okta is Interesting

Comments: Our headquarters switched from Zimbra to Okta several years ago. Although Okta seems to be much better than Zimbra (our email is now powered by gmail), I wish that the Okta capabilities were a bit more obvious. I just discovered that I could attach other software/services like Mailchimp and social media accounts as plug-ins. My overall experience has been good...just slow-going.

Pros:

I would say that it is easier than other team/workforce email software that our company has used in the past. However, I still find it a bit convoluted. It seems like there are many things that can be integrated into our Okta settings.

Cons:

I do not know if this is the fault of Okta or our headquarters, but it is still hard to see the full benefits of using Okta for our workplace email/communications.

Comments: Product support is good. 4 out of 5.Ease of Use.API are readily available to integrate with other application.Maintaince is easy.

Pros:

Ease to use and the API are readily available. The SSO part is so nice and you can use for multiple devices. one more feature that i like is Enable passwordless authentication into anything. admin work is simple here.

Cons:

as of now we are using this software for good. not sure any problem we are facing with the same. Most of the time we are getting support from the OKTA team faster and the problem resolution/ turnaround time is good.

Comments: Need to provide Single Sign-On (SSO) and policy modeled MFA/Adaptive Authentication along with Directory integration are the main use cases. Okta hit it spot on!

Pros:

SaaS Model, easy to provision and supports the most used applications from an access management and directory integration perspective. The user interface and capabilities are light years ahead of the competition.

Cons:

Limitations around on-premise integration with applications and environments. This is not too bad as a SCIM provisioning agent/component is available to support limited provisioning to on-prem applications.

Comments: Okta stands out for its flexibility and high levels of identity management security. It fits very well into the enterprise infrastructure and the centralized administration process facilitates secure access to applications and cloud environments.

Pros:

It is easy to manage user access to applications. Offers a very fast and secure login that simplifies access to the application stack, access notification arrives instantly. It has excellent customization options that enhance its ability to adapt. Enables you to create integrations that strengthen security, drive operational processes and strengthen automation.

Cons:

This solution provides robust identity management. Initial setup is cumbersome and time-consuming.

A great add-on to application development

Pros:

The best feature was the Okta Sign-in widget which was used as all the application's sign-in page and served by an AWS Lambda function without issues. The registration (onboarding) flow was easy for users to follow. Integrations to in house developed application + AD was easy to implement. Reporting to see which users were internal vs external made it easy for us to implement different password policies. We were also able to integrate with other clients that were already using Okta for SSO.

Cons:

In my opinion the API rate limiting tiers are expensive to operate at scale.

Comments: This is an easy to use platform that integrates easily with other applications, is well supported and provides a secure authentication process with the ability to create our own policies.

Pros:

Features a customizable and easy-to-use dashboard that facilitates user login. Enables effective role management and optimizes the management of the entire user identity lifecycle. It offers the advantage of having access to business resources centralized in a robust, customized security and access control system.

Cons:

Although this platform offers reliability and ease of access and identity management. I would like its user interface to be a bit more modern and visually pleasing.

Comments: They have continued to build a product that enables IT teams to manage employee identity. When we first deployed Okta workflows, we knew that their product and engineering teams consulted with Corporate IT teams to build Workflows. So far, I have not seen them slowdown on innovation and iterating on their product(s) which is good for a customer like me.

Pros:

- Ease of use even for junior IT admins- Ease of deployment- Okta Workflows extends your ability to automate user provisioning outside of regular SCIM options- Identity governance (IGA) is a game change in the IGA space especially if you're an existing Okta user. Workflows that can be built in Slack/Teams makes it much easier for your IT and Security teams- Setting up a new application that's part of their catalog takes minutes

Cons:

Nothing of significance as they continue to innovate and release new features.

Great tool for giving end users access

Comments: we use this for so much, a user wants to access an email account or group, give them a chicklet for it, it allows for much better sharing of items and greater control over the access as well which is great.

Pros:

I love this tool. No longer have to risk giving out passwords to account. I can just give my user access to an OKTA account and then assign them chicklets to access account, software, groups and so forth, without them ever having to know the password to them. It works well and is fairly easy to use and set up users. The AD tie in is nice and helps in making it easier to add users to your account. Put yourself at ease and give OKTA a real look you will not be disappointed.

Cons:

i would say adding users can seem a bit tricky and odd if you don't do it all the time, it could be a little clearer on adding users into your account. but other than that its pretty solid software

Excellent Identity provider

Comments: The experience is quite good, and user management is very easy

Pros:

Okta is very to use, it's very easy to create user, add them to application/group and put in place a very good identity management system

Cons:

The search engine : I don't understand with a software of this quality, the search engine is inefficient.The search is made only on exact terms, with an input in the exact order. It can be difficult to find a software or a person if you do not know the exact spelling

I No Longer Have to Remember Passwords!

Comments: I love it. In the future, if I ever get my own business off the ground, I will definitely be considering OKTA as a software that we will use.

Pros:

At my company, we had separate logins for SO MANY PLATFORMS. And you know how it goes - each password has to contain a certain number of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, special characters, etc. It was getting so hard to remember passwords, and I was getting sick of having to reset my password every time I logged into something. OKTA solved that problem for me. By navigating to the OKTA page, I could click on one of the "tiles", and it would log me into that platform. Made my life 100x easier.

Cons:

Occasionally, I would have issues logging into OKTA itself, which made it impossible to log into my other apps. This was a bug that our IT team seemed to fix. Aside of that, a lot of my issues turned out to be user-error. Once I received training for OKTA, all of my problems were resolved.
