I love the notifications that offer support and training for new options and/or updates within Clio. I like being able to select certain calendars to see at one time or multiple at once if needed.
There is no restore your organizations work if a rogue employee deletes it or an accidental deletion without nefarious intentions.

Game Changer for Our Practice
Comments: Transitioning to Clio has been a game-changer for our practice. With working out of office frequently their cloud based platform allows me to access everything I need from anywhere, which is incredibly convenient. Customer support was top notch when we called in, short wait and easy resolution. While I did experience a slight learning curve initially, the benefits far outweigh any minor hiccups. Overall and after trying out other platforms, we're going with Clio there's just no comparison!
Pros:
I was really impressed with how Clio simplifies everything. I was searching for a replacement for my previous legal management software and came accross Clio and thought we'd give it a try. It's truly a breath of fresh air compared to what we're used to. The ability to automate client intake and manage cases has made our work much more efficient. Also the integrations with other tools we already use made it so it wasn't like starting from scratch.
Cons:
The mobile app seems to have limitations compared to the desktop version, which can be frustrating when traveling and accessing information on the go. I called into support and they were able to help me with what I needed though away from main workstation, and hear that the app is being improved currently.
Clio is great!
Comments: My overall experience with clio has been great, especially with the new medical treatment tabs, it helps make my life easier
Pros:
I love how easy clio is to use and all of the most important information is on the main page of a case
Cons:
I least like the layout of clio, I think it could be laid out a little better
Clio database organization
Comments: Clio is a good overall software that is useful in maintaining a detailed and organized database, however, its limitation in functionalities is not adequate for our field.
Pros:
Clio's functionalities are useful in the ability to maintain clients information in a organized database.
Cons:
The limited functions that Clio has adapted are extremely limited.
Clio is a key part of our firm and helps us achieve more! Highly recommended.
Comments: I know that by using Clio, they will constantly be improving and that I will always get the customer service when I need it. Relying on Clio for over 13 years, I feel my files are organized, my communications are streamlined, and I know I'm giving better service to my clients because of Clio.
Pros:
Clio is a great foundation for our firm. I am a long time Clio user, over 13 years now. I have seen it grow and improve. Some things have stayed the same - excellent customer service, minimal to no downtime. It replaces at least one full time employee with the automated reminders, calendaring, etc. Not only do I organize my digital client files in Clio, I track all my payments and trust accounting, I am able to have team member accountability through task tracking, we have regular and effective communication with the clients through the Clio Client portal. When I'm using Clio, it helps me be a better lawyer, it helps me focus more on my clients, and keep my clients happy through great communication.
Cons:
While it has all the basic features in a package to choose from, there are parts you have to pay to add on. Clio Grow for intaking new clients, meshes great with Clio Manage but it does have an extra cost. The document template feature that is built in is okay, and the add-on Clio Draft is supposed to be a lot better but it's at additional cost and a bit difficult for me to intuitively figure out. It's costly to have Clio, but it does save having an extra employee and saves from missing a deadline and having client's complain due to lack of communication, so to me it's worth the cost.
Awesome product, saved us money and earned us even more.
Pros:
I have loved how much Clio integrates with other programs. I love how easy billing it and how it's helped us grow as a firm.
Cons:
I would like to see better reports to generate.
Satisfied if I were in some other area of law
Comments: Overall I would say Clio has a nice product for certain firms. It is definitely not made with personal injury practice in mind.
Pros:
User interface is appealing. Client portal and messaging is convenient
Cons:
Collab with Clio for Co Counsel is not functional for document share or notating the file properly
Clio: Great for what you need
Comments: Clio is a great, basic legal site that provides most of what you need. Very easy to use, the scheduling features are top-notch, and they have the best customer service I've ever seen. Only downsides is that it's very basic and does provide a full amount of features, despite the constant updates.
Pros:
- Clean layout - Straight-forward interface - Friendly Customer Service
Cons:
- Basic Billing tab - Too many Eservice fees - Not enough features
I can't imagine practicing without it.
Comments: Signing up for Clio is probably the best business decision I've ever made.
Pros:
It makes running my law office a breeze. I can't imagine practicing without it.
Cons:
I honestly can't think of anything I would change about it.
Clio is my friend
Comments: The customer service and training are excellent
Pros:
Easy to learn and a lot of capabilities if you don't mind "add ons"
Cons:
Some of their solutions were a little unconventional, ie if an atty wants two different rates I was advised to change the rate case by case. I thought there should have been a better solution
manages everything better
Comments: it is an excellent software for legal procedures that makes everything easier to organize and that clients feel satisfied with quick procedures
Pros:
it has been a software that facilitates daily tasks that could require a lot of time, with clio it is easier to invoice, appointment reminders and have all the documents in one place to access them from anywhere without having to be in the office with the physical documentation its security and reliability allow you to have all the documents in the cloud with the certainty that nothing will happen to them and they will be protected
Cons:
in my use I have not detected anything that I dislike and I feel that everything has worked correctly without causing any problems
Lots of great add-ons - AND the basics are done well
Comments: We onboarded with Clio back in 2014 and we haven't looked back! Sure there were some growing pains, we have seen it grow and strengthen in its offerings over the years, but the immediate tech support available to our staff has been a constant from the very beginning. Now, after so many years and having to pull reports and data on (very) old time-entries and past users, we realize what a smart investment this was. Clio's record-keeping is exact, intact, and reliable.
Pros:
Robust platform that integrates time-keeping, billing, write-offs, and lawyer productivity seamlessly. Conflict checking. Competent, authorized human customer service is truly just a phone call away - no difficult menus and queuing music.
Cons:
Document filing/storage area by matter is a bit clunky, as is the Clio-generated Client email - though it is conceptually a great idea it doesn't work smoothly in practice.
Long Time User
Pros:
user-friendly and support is efficient and effective!
Cons:
I would like to integrate quickbooks access with the general account or perhaps more of an accounting feature within Clio.
Alternatives Considered: CosmoLex
Reasons for Choosing Clio: I actually have started my practice using CLIO. I then had to make a change upon switching bookkeepers. I went Cosmolex, which was extremely difficult to learn and not user friendly at all. I ended up switching back to Clio, and I will never make any changes again. Clio has everything I need and integrates with my programs.
Reasons for Switching to Clio: I actually have started my practice using CLIO. I then had to make a change upon switching bookkeepers. I went to Cosmolex because this new bookkeeper insisted that is all I needed, which was extremely difficult to learn and not user friendly at all. I ended up switching bookkeepers and searched for someone specifically familiar with Clio, and I will never make any changes again. Clio has everything I need and integrates with my programs.
Switching from PC Law to Clio
Comments: Our experience with Clio has been excellent. Their entire team is responsive, they outsourced the data transfer to some excellent referrals also making the transition easier than anticipated
Pros:
Customer service is extremely helpful and responsive, our representative is also very responsive and knowledgeable. Programs are fairly easy to use. Transition from previous software was easier than anticipated
Cons:
We have a different way of inputting payments so it was a bit cumbersome but we have now learned how to work around these issues
Alternatives Considered: Centerbase
Reasons for Choosing Clio: PC Law's customer support deteriorated, and they were not as reliable
Switched From: PCLaw
Reasons for Switching to Clio: customer support, price, delivery, ratings
Clio has changed my business model
Comments: First thing first. Clio's customer and technical support is top notch. They are excellent at getting you started and set up. It only takes a few clicks to get connected to support and once you are connected it is secured using your support code. Clio has helped generate and speed up my intake, processing and document creation dramatically compared to where I was before.
Pros:
Having my client information, cases, documents, templates and invoicing under one system is a dream come true.
Cons:
I wish Clio had more in-house created integrations with apps versus using services like Zapier to make the connections and send data from apps or services to Clio. Zapier can be very clumsy and if something gets updated in Clio's software you sometimes have to rebuild the Zapier.
Alternatives Considered: CaseFox
Reasons for Choosing Clio: It all started with Keap not being able to send text messages anymore. That got me looking at other services. I had watched several videos on Clio a few years back but decided to go the cheaper route with another case management service which ended up not having near as many options inside the system. Clio was the perfect answer to having everything under one roof.
Switched From: Keap
Reasons for Switching to Clio: Clio has more features and better support.
Clio Review from AWL
Comments: The platforms, both Manage and Grow, are user friendly and I have had a great experience with the software. I like that there aren't rollout after rollout of changes. I enjoy updates and accept them but I like that it's not a weekly occurrence (like Quickbooks). I have recommended Clio to others and will continue to use Clio.
Pros:
Overall Clio is very user friendly. My clients who have commented on the use of Clio have had positive feedback as well. I like that there are training videos and customer service has been great the few times I've called. The integration with my Google Workspace and now having their own credit card processing fees is great too! This year I'm utilizing the Dashboard more, both on Manage and Grow and I do like how it works. It helps me stay productive.
Cons:
For sections I haven't used as much, I have difficulty finding my way back to them after stumbling upon them. I would like to be able to attach receipts for reimbursable expenses to client's invoices. I would like to be able to mark client matters and/or client invoices as mail only so I know when to print the invoices and mail them to clients.
Alternatives Considered: QuickBooks Online
Reasons for Switching to Clio: I had Quickbooks at my previous firm and I hated their program. My boss was always on the phone with them because something wasn't working correctly. Every time I went to log time the format had changed. It is expensive. Clio was recommended by both bar associations that I am a member of and the free trial went very well for me.
Not a good product
Comments: I was misled in the sales call and they talked me into purchasing Grow. Boy, what a mistake! Grow is a product that promises to automate the intake experience but does not work as advertised at all. The tech support seems unable to figure out the problems I am having, and paying for premium support was one more waste of money.
Pros:
Manage makes it easy to send bills and get paid electronically. It can maintain files and track time.
Cons:
Grow is a useless product that doesn't really work, and premium tech support is a waste of money.
Alternatives Considered: MyCase
Reasons for Choosing Clio: I opened a new office and needed software
Switched From: Zola
Reasons for Switching to Clio: Clio seemed good for a solo practitioner. Boy was I wrong.
Clio is an amazing program with lots of benefits.
Comments: I love the benefits for Clio and how it is always improving
Pros:
I love how customizable this program is. I can create my own fields and documents. I love the organization options. I love how we can template our own information to create a matter. It's a very useful tool. I also love the clio portal and the ability to text our clients.
Cons:
The only issue I have with clio is the email attachments need to be saved to the file it's self, unless you save the entire email. It will be routed to an attachments file and that can be difficult to find if you have many files.
Clio Review
Comments: Very positive and I would highly recommend. I use Grow and Manage and would never change to anything else now because these platforms are customisable, easy to use and very comprehensive. I have previously used other platforms and systems but Clio is by far the best on ever my level. Customer support and service is also great.
Pros:
It’s easy to use and covers everything I need it to do. From letter/document creation to billing and invoices. Everything is centralised in one place for accurate record and ease of access.
Cons:
It’s very time intensive to set up all the features in the manner you need the system to function to align with your business and there’s not really a guided process for this which would be helpful as some of the set up features can be tricky. It would be helpful to be assigned someone when you first sign up and for them to help you actually set things up the way you need them to be. I also can’t link my emails to Clio as my email:outlook was purchased through a third part (Go Daddy) but I was not aware this was going to be a problem so it would have been helpful if that that was clarified from the outset when I first spoke to Clio so I would have known.
Alternatives Considered: Actionstep and SOS Legal
Reasons for Choosing Clio: LEAP had terrible customer service and although I had used them previously when I was employed, using them now as a firm manager, the customer relations and care was horrendous. Once they have you signed up they couldn’t care less about you and it was a nightmare dealing with them.
Switched From: LEAP
Reasons for Switching to Clio: Clio was practicle, affordable and comprehensive. It has everything I need for my firm currently as a start up business as has the ability to grow as my business grows with all the in built features.
A fantastic legal ops product!
Comments: I've had a great run with Clio. It's packed with features that make my legal work a lot smoother, especially with all the docketing and billing. Plus, their support team is very helpful. It's been a game changer for the firm!
Pros:
Clio simplifies docketing, billing and keeping client files organized, offering streamlined processes and automation that significantly reduce administrative overhead.
Cons:
My least favorite aspect of Clio is the separation between Clio Manage and Clio Grow. These platforms offer complementary features essential for client file management and intake processes, yet their division necessitates two separate subscriptions. This separation not only increases costs but also complicates what could be a more streamlined workflow.
Alternatives Considered: Lawyaw
Reasons for Switching to Clio: There were more third party recommendations for clio
Clio for Solo Lawyers
Pros:
An all-in-one practice management system to run my law office
Cons:
Clean syncing with Email for storage of communications is not there yet and should be included
Alternatives Considered: PracticePanther Legal Software
Reasons for Switching to Clio: It's simply more intuitive and has more integrations
Get It. It's Literally A Lifesaver.
Comments: Great! The people and the organization are great, and they're constantly giving as a company. They give you resources on accounting, technology, business building, client management, time management, everything you can think of to run a business as an attorney. There are SO many things you can do with Clio, I'm just scratching the surface. And they're still improving and adding more things on! It really is the best thing in the world for what you're paying. I 110% recommend Clio to any attorney in the world; it's the best thing since sliced bread, and it's truly a lifesaver.
Pros:
Easy to Use, Does literally everything I can want as an attorney. Great use of technology to streamline my practice and make normal tasks take seconds (drafting, reminding clients of court dates, etc). Very quick response time from their tech support, and most of the people are very nice and courteous even if they can't help you with what you want. The fact that they continuously update, make changes, and add features that we either wanted or didn't know we wanted until now, especially for such a low monthly price.
Cons:
The aesthetics of some of the features. Some of the features don't work as well as I want or there are little glitches on my computer (windows that pop up saying things I don't quite understand as a lay person haha), but these can likely be solved by talking to tech support. Some of the tech support people aren't that helpful, or will refer you to call their hotline so they can set up a Zoom call so you can share your screen and they can see the problem, which takes a whole lot longer than I would like. But generally they do solve the problem pretty easily.
Best legal software I have ever used!
Comments: I have had nothing but great experiences with Clio
Pros:
i like that I am able to streamline the intake process in Clio Grow and then pass the baton to my colleagues seamlessly in Clio Manage and Clio Draft
Cons:
There are still some things that need improvement, but i love that the support team is always so helpful and try to find workarounds for me, and then they take our suggestions seriously and send those to their design team to try to figure out how to put those suggestions in action.
Highly Recommend!
Comments: It is a very comprehensive system and I would recommend it to law firms of any size!
Pros:
It captures all of the information needed to work on a file in one place and allows me to be much more productive.
Cons:
Clio does not yet work with Connecticut Probate Courts to be able to upload documents directly to their system.
Highly recommend
Comments: Very good - any contact I've had with any staff member, from sales to onboarding to support has been excellent.
Pros:
I've been using Clio Manage since I started by firm in 2020 and find it to be very responsive to my needs. I've recently also started to use Clio Grow which I hadn't really thought would make a whole lot of difference to me, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I enjoy the interface, the support is good, it does what I need it to. Highly recommend it.
Cons:
The initial onboarding was great, but once you're up and running, you're left alone. Fair enough, but I suspect there are features that I could be using and would be beneficial to me, that I don't know about either because they didn't exist when I was onboarded, or I didn't need them initially and I've forgotten they exist. This could be fixed by a 6 month review or 1 year review, but it's not critical. Perhaps for firms with more users/wider range of services, they'd pick this up and follow it up with Clio. It's hard to follow up on something you don't know exists.
We've used Clio for over a decade!
Comments: I have been a user since Clio was a baby and have always loved it and have recommended it to many other legal professionals!
Pros:
Fast and easy and everything we need is all in one place.
Cons:
There is no way to send one document that is both an invoice and a trust request so that you can show clients where their money has gone and how much they need to send in to replenish their trust again.
